Life is so precious and fragile

Was going through some older threads and came across the two below. Two young miscers (early 20's) who succummed to cancer. Shed a few tears reading the threads. Kinda surreal to see them still post and joke around while also holding onto hope till the very end. Just wanted to share.

They eventually stopped posting and people came in to confirm. It's worth the read, will be better than any other threads you'll waste time reading on the misc tonight srs

Why think about it daily?

I'm a pretty happy/positive person 90% of the time. When I'm sad about something, I try to remind myself of all the good things I have going on in my life and count my blessings.

Man. Can't stop crying reading that. Esp when he said he's dying alone with no family/friends around. I bought life insurance today (no kids but for nieces and nephews) should something ever happen to me. Gonna look into writing a living will too, just never know what life will bring tomorrow.

It's all going to plan until it doesn't. It's cliche but depressing how society will keep moving on like a herd of buffaloes looking @ an injured calf.

I feel sorry for those on the bad end of randomness. Even something like losing your legs, people will reinforce you with the usual sayings, but at the end of the day everything changes and people will never look at you the same regardless of your positivity and behavior.

All you can be is thankful and try live a lifestyle that minimize a few of the greater complications. I mean everyone in this thread is already dead, the time to get there is meaningless since you're comparing it to infinite time.

The biggest blackpill is that you're just another brief consciousness that will soon be gone forever. People existed just like you, in their own present time, everything was then and now. If you believe in something after life then none of this applies to you but for the rest I hope you never have these realizations. The concept of eternity cannot be truly understood but even just sort of being on the cusp on how final death is will give you chills.

These examples are even more sad, to go so young is truly cruel. I can't even fathom the sort of mental strength you'd need to prepare dying that young. It's happening every day, there are cancer wards filled just for kids. It will truly open you up with appreciating life and scoffing all the other bullsh*t like social media dramas and empty attention-based living.

I think I saw the video for that. It was horrific, being hit at that speed with a brick. His cries of anguish, just unimaginable. I wish I never saw it. Just like that life changes.

Yeah it really got to me too. I read it initially because it deals with a field I’m in (pharmacist) and it ended up being very moving.

It’s definitely not something I do for fun. It’s just a result of the fact that I’m acutely aware of how infinitely precarious, unpredictable and short life actually is.

I used to scoff at people who say life is short. After all, it’s the longest thing anyone could ever experience. But as I get older - and believe me, I’m not that old - I’m starting to become more and more aware of how salient a point this is.

Literally everything we do in life is a distraction from the fact that we are torpiedoing at lightspeed towards eternal oblivion and there is nothing we can do about it. We don’t know when it’s coming - it could happen tomorrow, or 50 years from now. The only thing we do know, is that it’s getting closer by the day - and make no mistake: it’s gonna happen.

I'm sure tons of Miscers have died. Usually we don't know. Suddenly someone stops posting and we never know why. You hope they just moved on from the Misc but some moved on to the beyond.

Anyways, these guys were too young, life was cut short. Not everyone lives to be old.

It's an extremely good idea to appreciate everything you come across in life, clouds, food, and everything.

Enjoy the hell out of it.

Part of think about death daily crew. I think every decision I make without this consideration is a poorer one.

Always remember that it can end any time.

I often think about the naive, happy state I was in the moment before I sustained an injury or received some bad news and how, one day most likely, I’ll have a ‘before’ cancer diagnosis state and an ‘after’.

I live in the before state now so I have to extract as much pleasure and meaning out of it as I can.

How could you not think about it daily? It isn't a choice for me, on most days literally the first thing that hits my mind waking up before I even become aware of where/who I am. Mortality is the perpetual bedfellow.
