Should I go on vacation to Florida next month?

I saw some of the plane tickets to Florida any part and it's pretty phucking cheap. Should I just take a nice vacation there for a weekend trip to chill? What do you think misc?

NGL I do kind of wonder what the mask situation is down there. I feel like they're very open and cool about it which is great. I would mainly just want to chill on the beach with good weather since it's starting to get cold here in Chi.

Yeah why not - pick a touristy spot that is prone to have good deals.

I'd suggest Clearwater Beach/Tampa/St. Pete area, but Key West, Miami is decent if you have money to burn.

Skip Orlando.

Not sure about which part of Florida you're thinking about but I live in South Florida (Broward County) and masks are required to enter all establishments. You can walk around without one, go to the beach without it, take it off once seated at your table at a restaurant/bar etc. The LA Fitness I go to requires masks upon entry but you can remove them while actively working out (aka as soon as you walk in)

Miami is a different story, mask mandates are everywhere still. I'm hoping I'm wrong but I believe the Lockdowns are coming again, the new mayor elected is a dem so forsure its going to be stricter lockdown. :-( Desantis is our only hope.

I was thinking of mainly just going to the Miami beach area but that honestly sounds good. I am not some super anti-masker, but I do not prefer.

I don’t see why not β€” a weekend just seems pointless though.

If you plan to go out there, go for an extended period of time and bring your work pc if you work remotely

Considering doing the same but Hawaii

I drive down to Florida on the Saturday after Christmas and stay through January. Already rented a house in fort Myers beach.

Honestly yea, I am thinking of going all weekday instead and working a few of those days in between. Like Monday to Friday

is Broward at least sort of lax in regards to bars and all of that?

I only ask because I lived in Fort Laudy for a bit. Moved back to NY for a bit but thinking about going back in August, because I think by then Florida should be relatively decent, but who honestly knows

Yeah currently at least it is. You just need a mask to enter the bars but can take them off, which in itself is ridiculous but i'm not a masker so whatever.

Yeah come on down. I suggest going to St. Pete and while you're there take a drive go east down 54th Ave S and hang a left at 8th street. Really nice area with beautiful parks and friendly people. And make sure you don't wear a mask when you walk into stores and gas stations and restaurants.
