Man falls from 10 ft ladder and dies. Guess the cause of death.

Builder, 51, who died after falling from a 10ft ladder was actually killed by coronavirus, doctors say

Builder tested positive for coronavirus after he was pronounced dead by medics
Postmortem led to diagnosis of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS)
This is a life-threatening condition normally resulting in hospitalisation
Scientists said the condition, triggered by the virus, caused the man's death

The doctors said they were initially suspicious a fight had occurred between the man and his co-workers, who had lived together for ten days, because no one saw the man fall from the ladder.

But after an autopsy revealed severe damage to the lungs, they said they could rule this out.

The man had suffered from a headache, fatigue, fever, cough, chest discomfort and shortness of breath in the week before his death, his co-workers said.

They had asked him to go to a doctor, but he had refused their advice.

The man also had type 2 diabetes and was a smoker, which both raised his risk of death from Covid-19.

First off the article is ridiculous in that it admits no one saw him fall off a ladder but what's the headline?

So we have a dead guy on the ground with a ladder near by.

10' aint that high man.

Even if you intentionally fell head first into the ground it'd be a stretch that it'd kill you.

No matter what the autopsy found - whether it be a stroke, heart attack or whatever - I'd lean towards that being the COD.

People just want it to be covid so it fits into their narrative that somehow the covid case count is skewed.

Any other cause of death it'd be a boring ass story.

In all fairness I don't think a fall from 10ft is enough to kill the very vast majority of people unless they fall directly on their head or something.

Yeah, sometimes a traumatic brain injury from a fall like that causes death or being paralyzed (including diaphragm so you canโ€™t breath) but they should be able to determine those in an autopsy.
If they are saying his weakened state was caused by covid and that is what caused the fall and resultant injury then thatโ€™s BS.
If he was struggling with his breathing so bad that he suddenly died on the ladder then he never would have made it to the ladder in the first place so thatโ€™s BS.

My guess is heart attack/arrhythmia while on the ladder. In this case it gets tricky. Dude obviously has multiple risk factors for an MI but Covid can cause hypercoagulability resulting in strokes/MIs. So how do you determine that if the MI was the cause of death, did covid cause the MI? Or did his body working harder due to covid cause it (with an already present lesion of course)? I think thatโ€™s probable but I donโ€™t know how you record that for cause of death.



There are a lot of people in these threads that say โ€œhe died of MI/stroke/ARDS/secondary pneumonia/Sepsis/MODS/DIC etc. not Covid. Iโ€™m not saying stats arenโ€™t being skewed but if you donโ€™t understand that covid has been causing all these things then you shouldnโ€™t comment on it. Also, if you have to understand how many people actually have these risk factors and manage to survive day to day
