Instant coffee is so bad ffs

Broke my French Press today and had to get back to instant coffee until the new one gets delivered.

I forgot how bad this tastes as I have not had any since my uni days.

No wonder people would rather splurge on Starbucks which is literally the biggest upsell ever.

Instant coffee, boiling water and sugar. Make some whipped coffee. Pour over almond milk and add some chocolate syrup

Night and day srs. Medium Strength coffee pure black.

Ground coffee is also cheaper.

I dont use any sweeteners or sugar.

I have a box of folgers that is in small tea bags. I bought them to take backpacking since all is required is boiling water and a cup. They aren't half bad.

It's terrible stuff. Even instant coffee that claim is good is still pretty bad.

Yeah. Same for me. I love the flavour and would have it any way.
My preferred method at home though is to use a Mokapot. It's dark and almost as strong as espresso. It's also okay for making all kinds of fancy drinks with cream.

Thats because the coffee in the bags is ground coffee, not instant.

Mokapot uses ground coffee. Espresso is ground coffee as well.

I use a French press sometimes but ya can't beat the classic filter coffee.

Of course, at home and using a good blend, not the melted car tyres they serve at diners.

My husband drinks it regularly. I was out of coffee one day and out of desperation I used some. Good god it was disgusting! Tasted like it had been strained through some week old chit-stained underwear, with a gym sock thrown in for flavor! Barf!!!

I’d rather drink the water in Mexico.

Who tf is stupid enough for instant?

Buy a coffee maker with a timer and a lasting filter you don't gotta replace for $20. Pour in water/grounds the night before and set timer for 5 minutes before your alarm. Boom great coffee ready the second your feet touch the ground. You are all welcome.

Once whole bean coffee is ground, it starts to deteriorate in freshness after 20mins. Better to grind right before using.

It is crazy how 5 mins with a hand grinder and a v60 pour over absolutely destroys most coffee yet people rather drink a cup of chit and save the 4 and a half minutes to browse low IQ memes.

As someone that drinks coffee plain nothing in it(just love the taste and smell of plain coffee, all this sugar and cream/milk basically means you like a milkshake with caffeine not coffee.), I recently tried nescafe azera instant americano and it tastes almost as good as fresh brewed plain dark coffee and I have tried many brands and brewing methods. I was genuinely surpirsed how good it tastes, and it works out to 8p a cup of coffee. Obviously it's not as good, but it comes close and it's instant and cheap for when you are in a hurry or ran out of fresh coffee.

Go get yourself a proper espresso machine.

Breville barista goes for about $800-1000. If you go out for coffee often, you’ll save money in the long run too.

Tedious to make the coffee though, that’s what a woman is for I guess.

Edit: espresso is quick and easy once you got the settings right. Cappucino is bit more tedious.

Instant coffee CAN be good,

but depends on the setting. When backpacking, camping overnight, after a long hike or mountaineering, etc boiling water and adding in that chit tier coffee will absolutely taste amazing

But then again so does eating rice and beans

The moment you grind up the bean into grounds it begins to lose its freshness. Hand ground 30 seconds before brewing, and something that is months old in ground form = trash.

It's like eating frozen vegetables and saying are baby potatoes and carrots at the farmers market really that good? In short it's the difference between living a pleb life, and life the way it's meant to be experienced. Sorry you do not like yourself enough to drink delicious coffee every morning.

Nescafe is alright. Would still drink even if it's not as good. There was a dude in my old job who frothed it up in a cup with a bit of sugar and water. Like he would spend minutes squishing sugar into the coffee or whatever he did, and when he poured the water in it would have this nice layer of foam. Always felt more exciting than the plain Turkish mud I was making.

From Coffee Hater to Coffee Crew Story

Started out by drinking iced coffee from Dunkin Donuts back in high school, high school gf loved it and had me drink them. I hated coffee so it was like half coffee, half milk, and a ton of sugar. Got to college and started to drink coffee instead of energy drinks. The coffee there was pretty ass tbh but I kind of got over it with some more milk and sugar. Then they switched to a new coffee which was coffee syrup mixed with hot water to make it easier, and the milk was always bad, so I started to drink it black. Then my roommate got an espresso machine because he italian AF and I started drinking straight up espresso instead of coffee. Then I graduated and got a job and they had the K-Cup coffee which were okay, but not great. Then I got put on a job which required me to walk past a Starbucks everyday. So I started to dabble in the different coffee's they offered like the Pumpkin Spice, Gingerbread, Lattes, etc., which were all fukkin gross. I then learned you could put shots of espresso into your coffee which made them better. Then they came out with their Nitro Cold Brewed Coffee with Cold Foam. I would get a venti Nitro Cold Brew Coffee w/ 2 Shots and Cold Foam and it's the goat combo srs. I pretty much like my coffee black now, so the cold brew is a dark bold flavor and the espresso really hits different. Then the cold foam like gives you a little extra mouth feel that makes it dope. But Starbucks coffee is like really good coffee, probably the best chain coffee I've had and step above everything else. However been moved to a different job with no Starbucks in sight, and also it's fukkin expensive AF. Pretty much back to K-Cups now and brewed pots from home.

However, the best cup of coffee I've ever had was in my friends cabin during the middle of a snowstorm in the morning, and we were out of propane so no generator, no stove, no nothing. Had to take the Percolator, put it on top of a wood fired heater and wait for like 30 minutes just for it to boil. But god damn, something about sitting on the porch, in the middle of the woods, during a snow storm, drinking some hard made coffee just hit different.
