Anyone here tried Alpha Stim?

Doctor brought it up, tempted to try it but insurance doesn't cover it.
Curious if any of y'all have tried it with successful results.

Haven't seen much on brain stims but the spinal cord stims they use for pain control cost $100k and I have yet to see one actually reduce pain in a patient. Might as well piss that money down the toilet.

Yeah, these are like $800 and seem like snake oil, but God would it be nice to cut out some meds.

If they really are only $800 there is no way they work. Insurance companies would be falling over themselves to pay $800 for a product that would save them $1000s a month in medication costs if it actually worked.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

If you have $800 burning a whole in your pocket it might be worth taking a flyer on one if you have sides from the meds but I wouldn't get my hopes up

That's what I figured.
Everytime I look at it I just see the "but muh REASEARCH". My doctor said he's seen results from it but he's also an old hippie.

If this guy you're talking about is a GP there is a 90% chance he doesn't know what the fuk he's talking about. GP's are good at what they do. Identifying a problem and referring you to the proper specialist if a steroid shot and antibiotics don't fix it. Some GPs are very knowledgeable in certain areas that they enjoy but you can't expect a GP to know too much about anything since they kinda have to be a jack of all trades.

Naw. Psychiatrist.
We've been trying to find a decent aid in mood fluctuations without the medications usually taken for them because they add to the hallucinations/disorganized thought processes.
I've been weaning off three of my current meds and he's been using me as a guinea pig, I stg. He's the only psychiatrist under my healthcare plan within 50 miles, though, so I'm just kind of going along with it.

I don't trust Psychiatrists at all. My brother has managed to manipulate to lady Psychiatrists into giving him an ungodly amount of ADD and anxiety meds by just smiling at them and telling them he feels better when he's on them so he believes he should have them. Ded fukn srs. I would say he's giving them the D but he's the type of guy who'd think that was hilarious and would definitely tell me if he was

I've got four doctors in total, but he's like the last line in my book. Drives me nuts.
I've got a regular therapist I do CBT with, a GP who is SUPER fukkin smart but won't prescribe me mental health medications on principle, a psychologist who does all my stupid yearly testing and all that and that guy. He's the only one that can prescribe me my meds, though, so I need him.
