Getting a high credit score is easy?

What am I missing here. I've done nothing special at all, have only 4/5 credit cards, auto-payment each month.

Few years later:


Are all those credit techniques to speed it up? To get to 850? Is there any benefit once you're 800+?

Your actual score when a lender pulls it will be significantly lower, but honestly anything 700+ is fine. And yes, it is pretty easy to have a 700+ as long as you arenโ€™t late on any payments or have any collections.
