Had anyone, in the history of working out at home, built muscle from a MULTI-GYM?

These look attractive but very pricey even second hand. They are essentially, a chest press, pec deck, lat pulldown and low row piece of equipment. I don’t even count the leg extension as those are useless and even more so on the noncommercial stuff.

Any experiences?

Just get a functional trainer m8. Wall Mounted Plate loaded Pulley will be cheap as fuark. Get 2 single units will run at ~400 USD.

your muscles dont pick and choose what stimulation they grow from. I have one of these in my basement along with dumbbells, barbells and a few other various pieces of equipment such as legpress/hacksquat machine, old school squat rack, adjustable bench. best i've ever looked was during my basement lifting days

yes, lol you rbody doesn't know the difference between a free weight and a multi gym. you can build muscle with anything its all about resistance and movement reps, many people have built muscle with those powertec multi leverage gyms. They also help as you get older to avoid severe injury from free weights if you have bad shoulders or knees.

Powertec is something I will buy when I move, get a nice space in my house and buy them the best investment my friend made he is 50 and had bad joints and said he built up his chest and back and legs all with his powertec leverage gym. great option if you want to stay in shape as you get older. you see idiots still lifting heavy and then destroying their hips by 35 all for what so you can lift anymore and ego? women dont gie a **** about how much you can lift, then you can workout and need a walker and get bloated.

Damn you guys are making me want a powertec. Its been a long time dream of mine. But no one is selling second hand and I cannot get the brand new ones which are overpriced now anyhow

They used to have a Marcy gym like Powertec years ago, my coworker bought one for 450 bucks he had a 40 percent off coupon for Sports Authority when they were still in business and used it. He said that it really isolated his chest when doing the bench press he never had a pump like that before and it was easy on the shoulders. I wish I bought it they stopped making it it was compact and space saving much smaller than the powertec my friend currently has. The powertec is still the top dog but this one was decent for a cheap price

That looks like a quality bit of kit! Did your friend say anything about the lat pulldowns? And the rows? My worry is (aside from powertec) the leverage will take and do most of the work for you

He said the pull downs and rows were good, he said they are pretty good they hit the spot. The machine doesn't do the work its like a pully thing its loose once you unhook it just make sure to not overload it with weight just use strict form and squeeze its better for hitting the spot and safer than free weights,

I tried the powertec of my friends and man I wanted one off bat, the powertec has a better squat thing though than that marcy

What I noticed with the leverage machine is how it can hit the chest and you eel that pump, Its hard to get a good pump with bench press, but the powertec has alternate chest press for single arms and then chest press you can hit the spot similar to a fly my inner and upper chest was so sore.
