They agreed to pricing deals with the US govt. They are only gonna charge like $25 per dose. For Pfizer, if they vaccinated every adult in the US, the Covid vaccine would make them like $6b. That's 10% of their existing annual revenue. After the development and distribution costs, it's probably a small profit.

It also has a secondary and more important function, which is to get the population to agree with insanely intrusive big brother technology.
