My gf's a nurse anesthetist. Look up the salary range in your area.

https://www.ziprecruiter.com/Salarie...alary-by-State

If my son or my daughter want to be a crna or nurse practitioner, I'm all for it. The salary is as good as a lower tier doctor, and the schooling isn't impossible. I remember the pre-med kids in college - I definitely didn't want to study like that.

Every profession comes with men trying to look down on each other. You will never escape this. Look at presidents, independent businessmen, SC judges. People talk down to them more than anyone else.

NPs seem to live the life. Giant salary, similar authority to docs, nothing close to the same responsibility.

Ok you dumb piece of chit

The national average salary for a CRNA is 202K. I have seen the payroll records of every company I have worked for in the past 17 years.

We paid non-specialized doctors $90 per hour up to $125 a couple years ago. Mostly DO's were on the lower end, but some MD's made less than $100 per hour.

A work year is 2080 hours, so the average CRNA makes as much as a lower tier doctor, and I have now provided you an definition and explanation you sanctimonious douchebag.

the perfect job for a female is nurse

both are vocational jobs that won't leave you employed due to the nature of the job

CRNA is not really the same as nurses. Small market, more or less slaving to become elite in a non-elite field, paying more dues than physicians with none of the prestige. Plus, the market for physicians is stable and flexible. Anastesiology might contract any time. I'm surprised the bubble lasted this long.

You think less anesthesia will be required for surgeries in the future? huh? I don't know about slaving away to become elite, but my gf had offers from major academic institutions as well as normal regional hospital systems when she chose her current job.

I know anesthesiologists are not happy that CRNA's are allowed to do some of what they do at 1/3 the wage, but the economics of healthcare are obviously shifting to lower cost solutions. I would see the role of crna's and nurse practitioners expanding, not some bubble bursting.

Some insurance companies will pay less is a NP or PA sees the patient instead of a doctor, but the economics are still favorable to hiring as few doctors as possible and have them supervise as many PA's or NP's as possible. In IL you can do a 4-1 ratio of "midlevels" to doctors, but most doctors are not comfortable supervising that many.

But I agree that I have intentionally selected 2 types of RN's that do not represent the norm - but if my kids wanted to be nurses I would urge them to go further once they become RN's.

You can always tell when someone is talking from no experience when they think nurses "work for doctors"

They're completely separate fields, RN's simply administer the medication, they're front line involvement with you as a patient

A doctors superior is another doctor

A nurse's superior is another nurse

A doctor cannot "fire" an RN, nor do RN's wipe anyone's ass.. Btw most of my RN's are clearing $100k/year

I do not know why they pay so much. Anyone can do anestesia. Also, medical schools barely need educators anymore with everyone online. Last I saw, actually zero of the students attended class because they record the lectures.

Wow, man whoaaaaaaa. You count numbers? I’m proud. I applaud your determination

Of course you left out the salary average of mid levels such as NP & PA. But please go ahead and continue grouping them all together.
