Crazy f1 crash today

Buddy just has some burns on his hands. A few years ago this guy would have been dead for sure.

The car broke in half and Grosjean was in the half that was on fire. Amazing he got away with so few injuries.

Yep truly fascinating. He was in the half that went through the guardrail and was engulfed in flame and he walks out of it.

According to this:

https://www.espn.com/f1/story/_/id/3...ash-bahrain-gp

the impact was over 50-G.

Between the Halo bar pushing the guard rail over his helmet then the HANS device holding him back in the seat on impact, it could have been worse than some burns around his ankles, on his hands as well as some broken ribs. In some what’s, that impact reminded me of what killed Dale Sr. in ‘01 and may have been a similar G-Force. today’s was estimated at 54g, not sure if that’s a positive or negative G and Dale Sr.’s was -48g to -68g with improperly installed restraints and no HANS device installed.
