So, I'm a bit late to the party, but I just saw Mulholland Drive last night. It's supposed to be one of the GOATs. It was pretty good, but I have no idea what happened, lol.
For anyone that has seen it, can you give a quick interpretation/synopsis.

It's a David Lynch movie. They make no sense because they're stupid and a waste of time.

I barely remember anything from it. Didn't it have weird lesbian romance or something? Haven't even watched Eraserhead yet either
I'm more into Cronenberg or Jodorowsky than Lynch

It's an aspiring actress's dream she has the night before flying to Hollywood to live with her aunt. Lynch shows this in the opening credits.

The lesbian scene is solid.

It was originally intended to be a series similar to Twin Peaks. But instead it got condensed into a movie and so it doesn't really make any sense.

Basically it's about a young woman coming out to Hollywood to pursue her dreams of an acting career. The first half of the movie is actually her fantasy cope about how she wishes her life would turn out. The second half, after she wakes up, is the reality - she's a failed actress, her lesbian lover ended up marrying a Hollywood director and she's failed in life.

The weird hairy monster is supposed to be the dark entity that preys on lost souls that come to hollywood and gets lost in a downward spiral of broken dreams, drugs, sex and degeneracy. He collects those souls in that blue cube.

All the characters in the film (the cowboy, the movie director, Diane and her lover Rita) were all in someway victimized by that soul-collecting monster. This would have been further explained if they were able to do a series, but in a 2 hour movie, it's just not enough time, so people got confused how it all tied together.

For being so highly rated on IMDB, I thought it was one of the more disappointing movies I’ve ever seen. I just left weirded out and had no clue what I had just seen. That Silencio theater scene while you’re in the middle of the movie is just straight up weird, and a confusing way to explain the story. I had to read up on what actually happened to get a full understanding. That beast behind the diner scene....wtf?
