Anyone had experience on Zoloft ?

Since taking it Feel like i just don’t give a Phuk about anything anymore , can’t tell if it’s a good or a bad thing tbh
brb haven’t met one vaxcel who doesn’t get defensive or mad when you tell them you didn’t get it.

That's normal, when you first start taking an SSRI your receptors are being reset and will eventually balance out; until then you should feel generally indifferent to things that emotionally impact you

They can treat a variety of symptoms, what were you prescribed for?

In all seriousness though... yes. And they can give you homicidal thoughts. Any antipsych SSRI or anti anxiety meds can. Unless you are borderline about to end it, I would do anything to not take them SRS.

That meme makes no sense in your context

Just because someone is on psychotropics doesn't mean the medication caused them to be homicidal



Homicidal thoughts aren't even a possible side effect; suicidal thoughts are in those with severe depression

They were very mentally disturbed, which is why they were being treated in the first place

Hadn’t been feeling I’m right for a while , left a football game and just broke into tears all the way home one night , no idea why , could barely function at work and doctor gave me 50mg
brb haven’t met one vaxcel who doesn’t get defensive or mad when you tell them you didn’t get it.

Some weight gain is normal, 20lbs means you've been eating more, that's actually a good sign. Start controlling your calorie choices more


Call your prescribing physician and tell them what you've said here, your concerns. They'll either dial back the dose to 25mg or try something different. Most people have to try more than one kind to find what's right for them.

Don't quit cold turkey after 90+ days, you'll have rebound effects.

Yeah I’m gonna drop it slowly I think starting today , I rang my doctor about the weight gain and was told I havnt met the “bar” for weight gain I need to hit before they can help me with it , whatever that means

i took a lexapro on accident once and felt the worst i've ever felt in my life. had suicidal thoughts and anxious all day. lasted for 4 days until I finally started to feel normal.

Btw Anxiolytics don't create homicidal thoughts either, they're all sedatives that suppress the central nervous system calming anyone down and helping to rationalize thoughts.

Don't ever mix them with other CNS depressants like alcohol or painkillers, it can slow your breathing to dangerous levels.

50mg is a typical therapeutic starting dose, he/she must've meant 100mg.

Call back and tell them you don't want help with the weight management, you should know how to manage macros being on this site, instead focus on your concern for the mood swings. Ask them to try a different medication if it keeps happening over the next month, and obviously contact them immediately if your depression suddenly worsens.

Not surprised, that's why no one intentionally abuses SSRI's, taken when not suffering from depression/anxiety will have an opposite effect on the brain. Am surprised you didn't get nauseated too.

yea it was a 10mg Lexapro (Escitalopram Oxalate).

i forgot to mention i had diahrea the first day too and couldn't eat for 2 days. Pupils were dilated so everyone thought I was on something. I actually called the poison control number and asked what I can do to feel normal again. He just said you should feel better in about 5 days because the stuff has a long half life. Thought about ending it. Worst experience ever. The crazy thing is I actually do have anxiety so this pill was supposed to help. Can't believe people are prescribed this
