Have you ever heard of a Tachyon?
It's a supposed particle that is able to travel faster than light.
Barry Allen was so fast he was able to capture one in his hand.
Do you think it's possible to travel faster than the speed of light in any way.
Maybe we'd have to engineer it like Star Trek via something like the Alcubierre Drive.
If Elon could keep his chit together maybe he could figure it out, or maybe the next guy.

Nothing in regular space can move faster than light. You need to fold space to travel far distances in shorter time than it would take light to travel that far. Current theory suggest wormholes should be possible but a lot of work is needed to determine how to "guide" them so you come out where you intend.
*Updated* If you can't hit a 320 yard drive, are you even a man?

There is all kinds of misunderstanding about what tachyons mean. The naive, crank approach is to jump onto this “faster than speed of light” particle, which does not have experimental basis in reality.

See the video from Leonard Susskind linked in the first answer. The second answer is a great example why naive and crackpot approaches stay away from the actual physics of what’s going on- quantum field theory and related subjects is filled with fairly heavy mathematics.
A tachyonic field in modern physics (notice this is not say point particle) is associated with a m02< 0, i.e. an imaginary mass. This has implication for the instability of the vacuum, but not some field front that is traveling “faster than the speed of light”, hence “signal traveling faster than the speed of light”, hence violation of causality that you see with unscientific sci-fi tachyons and devices.
Also Elon Musk is not the one to turn to about any of this....theoretical physicists like Susskind above are good sources to consult about qft and particle physics.

Inb4 someone claiming a rocket going left at 3/4 the speed of light and a rocket going right at 3/4 the speed of light means the speed of light is being superseded, since to an observer in the middle they are being separated by an extra 1.5 light years every year.
