Why when my ego takes a hit or something goes unfavorably I start to think more clear

Is it just me ?

For example was having a rough day today and then ill think back to the other night when I was texting a girl ..realized was being way too long in my responses , and acting desperate.

during a rough day like this I'll think back and be like man ..she was slighting you and you were writing paragraphs . Should have 1 word responded or not replied at all

And this is just one example , are countless others in a variety of things that have nothing to do with girls

Its like once you lose a sense of like an emotional high you start to see things for what they actually are...

Just me?
