I know I’m beating a dead horse here, but it blows my mind there are supposed adults out there that do absolutely nothing, have zero goals and have absolutely nothing in their pipelines going for them. I truly wonder what keeps them going?

We no doubt are dealing with a different species now.

It's easy to imagine a cheeto covered fatty living in the crack of their couch watching tv and collecting money from the government for some 'disability' that makes it hard for them hold to job.

But the purpose of the welfare system to is provide means to people who are genuinely incapable, whatever that means. Is it the responsibility of the state, and consequently, the society? To take care of the helpless/hopeless. Should it be the responsibility of the family? What if there is no family? Should we let people perish if they can't support themselves? There are certainly circumstances that warrant pity and sympathy to hard times.

But the system cannot be perfect, people will always take advantage.
