I got a steal with the first stuff I bought years ago off craigslist it was ~500lbs in plates, a chitty squat rack but did the job, 2 oly bars, 2 curl bars, 40lb, 35lb, 25lb,20lb db pairs, incline bench for $375 IIRC
Now I have rogue rack/flat bench and upgraded bars and DBs and chit

Bout $1200 but for all brand new and reputable brand name stuff. The bumper plates were expensive. Half rack itself was about half the overall cost
Figured I spend that if not more in membership and other costs at a commercial gym

I bought a WaterRower M1 HiRise off of Craigslist for $750 which is a fccking steal. These things retail for $2K. I already have an old school 80s workout machine in the backyard so that takes care of strength training.

As for how much I’ve spent, I don’t want to know . But it’s worth it on my opinion,as I’ve only been sick once in ten years , and that was because I quit going to a public gym .
I don’t like waiting for dumbbells or a bench all the time either , so there’s that.
Plus I don’t miss driving to the gym anymore , and making up excuses why I can’t be bothered

I dropped around 2k on it pre covid (feb 2020). Bought everything from REP Fitness. Squat rack, barbell, jump box, bench rack, slam balls, weights.
Found out its much harder to get motivated to go lift when the gym is 5 ft from your couch. Ended up barely working out at all srs. Sold it all a few months ago for 2.3k and now back going to my local gym 5x a week no problem.

Around $50
I have a pair of 15 pound dumbbells I swiped from my cousin in law, a 20 pound dumbbell I paid $20 for at a K-Mart in Bishop, California, and a 25 pounder I bought for $26 recently.

I plan on buying more over the next few months. I relocated recently so I’m low on cash.

bout $2500...
Rogue Monster Lite rack ( just put it up )
Rogue adjustable bench .... total rip off, but gotta have the matching set.
Several rogue attachments for the monster lite rack
and about $950 for 2 25's, 2x35s, and 6x45s rogue deep dish plates
oh, and another $150 for my deadlift platform i made out of plywood/stall mats.
total waste, lmao... not gonna use it enough. The idea of adding it to my garage build so I CAN use it should i want to, is what made me do it.
I like going to gyms instead
and after using a chop saw in the garage I blew dust all over the rack and realized it wasnt a well though out idea... oh well lol
Ill post some when I finish it, this was some pics after I just assembled the rack

rogue RML 390-F
Rogue Dip attachment
Rogue Ohio bar
Rogue (hi-tech) bumper plates
stall mats
wooden gymnastic rings
Cheap loadable dumbbells and ez curl bar off FB marketplace
some metal weights for loadable dumbbells and ez curl bar.
about $2800 total.
I have my YMCA membership for another few weeks so I have gone to the YMCA a few times since getting it. Still trying to get my garage in order and set up. Lots of stuff needs moved and organized. (coolers, tools, etc...)
I had an inferior home gym with lots of used dangerous stuff but sold it all.
Overall I look forward to working out in the Garage. Ill miss looking at HBB at the gym and have pulled from there a few times but my OCD about the smells, dirty ass, sweaty MFS, always being crowded, the drive, did I mention having to be in building with 90% sweaty ass dudes. No thanks. The home gym will pay for itself in 5.8 years probably less considering the wear and tear and miles on vehicle driving to the gym and back. Also I will have way more time to spend as the gym is just in the garage.

Water Rower I snagged on Amazon right when COVID started for $900.
Dumbbell rack with 10-30s for $400 from a friend who wasn't going to use it.
Squat Rack from WalMart for $450
Barbell from Kijiji for $240
Echelon Spin Bike for about $1400. I splurged on this because I love riding.
Bands with handles from Amazon for $39.
Plates were the most expensive. About $2 a pound and then $2 for shipping per pound as well.
