Stool Presidente, Dave Portnoy, Sounds off on NYC closing restaurants

~4 minute rant.

Meanwhile, according to a study posted on Eater, bars/restaurants account for 1.4% of the spread. 73% from private gatherings, which will no doubt increase due to the closing of restaurants and Holidays.

https://ny.eater.com/2020/12/11/2216...-data-new-york

Cuomo said that banning indoor dining in the city was “one of the few areas where we think we can actually make a difference”

Dislike to see it tbh- NYC is one of my favorites if not a favorite city in the world. Imagine working your whole life, savings, long hours, etc and then someone just takes it away from you without even giving you a fighting chance. Absolutely insanity. My heart out to these small restaurants. The big fast foods will be alright but its these smaller restaurants. Shame cuz there were so many michilen starred restaurants across the city. NYC is truly a gem in the world of food and restaurants srs. all the top tier chefs open up restaurants in nyc. Le bernardin, the masa, eleven madison park and many more. Why in the world would anyone want to live there now? srs.

Deblasio and Cuamo have set NYC 10 years back very srs.

True, but at this point, its not even about politics. A large large majority of these restaurant owners and employees are liberals, and while sure, "They get what they vote for," no one saw this coming in March, so its hard to just copy and paste political arguments here because the situation is so unique. If they all voted for Trump, it would still be like this. Cuomo and BDB are running the city to the ground.

I was managing a couple restaurants in TRiBeCa when it all went crumbling in March. I can't imagine being a Chef. NYC is the best city in the world to be a chef pre-covid, but if they are just shutting chit down left and right, I would be losing my mind. BOL my brah.

I didn't know he left NYC. But I use to hate this dude, but he's actually damn smart and not to mention he's not afraid to be upfront with people. Not a two faced hypocritical dip**** like most famous/wealthy people are.

Problem is that he moved to Philly lol.

all my chef friends are currently jobless. most of them left city. you can barely afford to live in nyc on a sous chefs salary let alone no salary for 9 months and counting now.

lot of my friends in theatre also have lost jobs.

driving at night, you can see an increase in homelessness in more upmarket neigbhorhoods also..i have never seen so many white homeless people in nyc that I am seeing nowadays...you can tell they are newly homeless

Do you have a link for this? Because Eater also said thatUp to 15 Percent of LA’s COVID-19 Cases Come From Dining at Restaurants. I mean, i get that LA ≠ NYC

Anyone remember when the bubonic plague came to Texas and killed like 2 people? Something shockingly easy to spread and extremely deadly? Where were the lockdowns for that?

Every one from NYC is coming to Miami.

I’ve met so many newly transplants it’s insane. They better leave their cancerous political beliefs in their crumbling city.

'Right underneath where you highlightedThose were 2 separate studies. I don't understand how the population density of NYC doesn't make the restaurant spread more than LA. I don't understand anything about this anymore.

Dave will keep it real if he sticks around.

The thing about people leaving NYC, and these are just my theories, but everyone who is leaving(Me included) isn't from New York. That's a better shot than having all the locals leave for Miami.

there's been 0 evidence to support that indoor dining causes widespread covid infections

in NYC it accounted for like 2% of them I believe lol

there was an infographic on it today, dk where it is now

found it

Cuomo doesn't follow the science, he just does as he pleases

even though our NJ governor is a cuck too, he won't shutdown indoor dining, gyms etc. because there's no evidence they are spreaders

"Politicians" are doing this? It's not "politicians", it's one side, it's the Democrats. But you can't call them out because the company you built is now 51% owned by billionaire Democrat donors, sell out *******.
