Who here has been to jail?
I was in jail at age 17.
Only for 18 days though
Happy I got to go and experience what it is like to be stripped of everything including your freedom and throw into a cage with violent unpredictable people.
Made me a little tougher, watching the show 60 days in I understand why someone would want to experience jail, but cringe because that show isn't real, they can tap out and leave at any time, the real experience of jail is knowing you can't leave. No matter what you say/think/do/feel, you will be locked in that concrete box for as long as the judge said you would.
Only for 18 days though

I was handcuffed to a bench at the police station for a couple hours after getting arrested for smoking a joint in college. The cop who arrested me drove me back to my dorm after doing the paperwork. Nice move after being such a dick.

i was there only 1 all night and next day (14 hours)
posted bail and left.
while i was there there was an informational program on rape in the exact county jail i was in and how to cope with it.
btw, this wasn't some mega harsh place, it's a small town county jail, but when given the opportunity to pay $700 and spend 2 weeks in jail to get the misdemeanor expunged permanently i said no because i'm not taking the chance of getting my face smashed in or ass penetrated and taking a chance at HIV+ in some "freak" "statistically unlikely" scenario. HIV is more rampant in prison/jails than the gay community outside prison.
did some AA and probation and that actually helped me out a lot mentally.
