Is doing a psilocybin trip really 'life changing'
I'll preface by saying mods delete the thread if the subject matter isn't allowed. Though it is a 'banned' substance, it has been more popular as of late in the scientific community as it has some signs of being VERY effective against depression, anxiety, PTSD and a whole host of other mental problems.
So to the misc, has anyone either microdosed or had a full blown trip, and if so, what were your experiences?
I have a feeling in the near future psilocybin will become a legitimate treatment for a lot of things

It's life-changing to do a full blown trip srs. Basically removed all depression and anxiety I had, or atleast allowed me to see things for what they are and have better understanding/perspective
That being said, make sure your mental state and environment are ready before you go into it.

How exactly did it cure those problems? (srs, I want to know)

Do it OP. As long as you don’t have any significant mental issues.
Not doing it is really a disservice to yourself. You are not even capable of coming close to understanding what your brain is capable of doing without trying them.
These will grab you by the soul, toss you around and spit you out. They are overwhelmingly gorgeous and absolutely terrifying. They are everything and they are nothing at the same time. There is no time. There are no boundaries. Just consciousness. It is an unimaginable experience that I wish everyone who was mentally stable would try. I wouldn’t say one experience by itself is life changing, but in conjunction with other spirituality practices that are not drug induced, will be transformative for sure.

For me it cured those problems of depression and anxiety by allowing me to view the cause of those feelings without my ego attached. The ego death is what makes a trip profound in my limited experience
Btw, you probably have to take a decent amount to experience an ego death. I microdosed before I took a full dose and it was a great feeling, definitely did some good, but a full blown trip goes wayyy deeper

was it drug induced or from experiences on them?
have a theory that's when most people get into that chit. the drugs like wipe the electric/ synaptic connections and then suddenly they become all spiritual
as to the op i think it's better to just know about neuroplasticity, which means you can correct them without drugs

There's way too much hype surrounding psychedelics, expect disillusionment to follow on the heels of your trip if you buy into all this reality altering stuff. It's interesting to experience the alterations to your processes but if you're counting on some reality altering experience that will open your consciousness you're going to be let down.

Depends on mindset before going in. That's what everyone tells me because I ALWAYS experience horrible trips. Even on LSD, it wasn't fun at all. Besides being outside and listening to the leaves breathe. That was cool af

I can guarantee with my life that opium (natural) is way worse for you than LSD...

Shrooms feel earthy, loopy, happy, grounded, you're connected with nature like a Disney movie where the animals mend your clothes.
Lsd is sharp, edgy, and clean like altering the coding on a computer program, patterns and math.

I also began studying eastern philosophies that generally aligned with these individuals ideas. In addition I really got into examining psychology as well, and studying the physiology of the brain. Everything from basic human behavior, sex, relationships, communication, etc. Concepts that really examine all aspects of what being a human is, with respect to the universe, from the perspective of our own conscious experience.just curious. i remember you being into that stuff not too long ago - the spirituality stuff.

The first time I tried them, I was absolutely ready. I still continue to study and learn these types of eastern philosophies, and modern neuroscience, meditate multiple times a day, and generally try to practice stoicism and mindfulness in all my affairs. And I have also done psychs seeming countless times. One thing about them for me is they just never let up. No matter if it was my first time, or my 200th time. They grab me by the soul and relentlessly beat on me in the best way possible. I seem to always get exactly what I am looking for out of them. It is mind blowing.
I can’t stress enough though that the drugs are only a small part of this ongoing personal inquiry I have. I feel like if you are only using them, you might not be serious about “finding” anything.
Which is absolutely okay, I feel. I just think they can be very meaningful when used a certain way. That is how I would advocate using them.

I've never been one to do drugs. I've never even tried Pepsi. The most I do is drink occasionally... as in have some drinks, but I never get blackout drunk etc.
That said, I've been microdosing psilocybin (150mg every 3 days) and it has been great for anxiety. The dosage to actually get "high" is 1g+. Usually 2-3 grams for a standard trip. 150mg is something you don't even feel at all. I'd highly recommend it and there's a lot of science now showing the benefits of psilocybin for anxiety. They gave late stage cancer a big dose, and most of them reported a substantial reduction in the anxiety surrounding dying etc.
Disclaimer: It's possible if you're predisposed to schizophrenia or other mental illnesses that it could trigger something. As always you should consult with a doctor when it comes to your health.
