So might be leaving California finally

You guys in Texas have room for 4 more Californians? Just kidding, your state is boned already. Moving to Omaha, Nebraska. Yes, ****ing Nebraska. Can't wait to hear from HR regarding details, already offered the job and it's up to me to pull the trigger. Due to dumb fragmented company policy I might have to give up some vacation weeks. Still worth it.

Pandemic road trip? Considering hitting up some National Parks on the way. Haven't planned out a route, first time leaving the state. Of course the check engine light on my vehicle lights up. Fukkin damn lol.

Any Nebraskans up in here? I know BobbyD (RIP) hailed from Iowa, did consider that state as well.

I'll post back if/when I actually pull the trigger. 95% sure that's a yes. In 3 years time I'll have a house and everything I want. Sick and tired of this state. Nice walking out middle of December in shorts and barefoot to water my patio plants, but an apartment patio is all I'll ever have here in California....

Only if you take the garbage CA politics with you. Otherwise enjoy Nebraska. I actually liked Omaha when I was there.

I sit here eating my juicy organic salmon I just roasted in my big house with my beautiful two huskies and going on a road trip in my new car next week to Colorado then California to mountains and just want to say... sucks to have supported such a liberal state for so long, huh? Hope you dont make the same mistake you made in Cali in Nebraska or anywhere else.

I heard Boise, Idaho is a pretty nice place to live but their residents are adamant about keeping that sh!t quiet because they don’t want an influx of outsiders ruining it.

They’re the epitome of “fuk off we’re full.” Except they’re not even full yet.

Idk what’s the appeal of that place. Just going by what I heard.

People are leaving Seattle in droves and a lot are going to Boise. Not a bad city.

Raised in Boise and can confirm.

Boise really is getting super fukking full though. Rent's almost on par with Seattle right now at about $1400/mo downtown and $1200/mo a 30 min drive away. Avg home prices are at $410K, but Boise is one of the lowest paying cities in the nation, so the house price to income ratio is equal to San Diego. Golf courses and fields are getting torn out left and right for more housing, and developers are starting to build on 100 yr flood plains without even giving a fuk.

2003 was about the last time Boise was really a secret, and things really started to get out of control ca 2016. It's a whole different place now. They actually started installing ramp meters on the freeways this year.

Oh that heh. I like Nebraska's politics. Pretty centric and common sense, similar to Iowa. There's a reason I'm not headed to Portland lol.

Never supported the derpocrats. I voted for Bill Simon and Tom McClintock for governer and knew Arnie would fail miserably. And I was fukking right. First a celebrity, then the R on his name. Similar to anorher doofus who fukked up recently. Big heads, big ideas, no principles.

Neither of these states has much opportunity with my company, and I'm transferring locations. Omaha, Nebraska has diverse economy, very low unemployment, good schools, and good housing prices. Honestly I'm more indoors anyway and couldn't give a chit. I'd love to visit SD one day tho.

Lived in a neighboring state for a while, it’s not the best but definitely not the worst either

Plus Warren Buffet lives in Omaha
