Is it racist to say “chinamen”

Was talking with someone about the Slant Eye Strangler aka Covid 19 and I used the word “chinamen” and was told that the phrase is racist.

They are men and from China —> chinamen. Is this word offensive to Chinese brahs?

My chinese buddy calls himself a chinaman so I assume it's cool, but it could be like the 'N' word where only black people can use it, so idk tbh. hope this helps

If you are under 85 then you should know better, if you are 85, then i kind of understand from WW1 and WW2.

Now if you are young, hip, social, live in a major metropolitan area and in the know then the general tern is Asian.
Then you break it down by country: Chinese, Korean, Thai, Flilpino, guy/man.
Simple as that.
There is an unspoken thing, we are iron brothers and sisters, we are to support each other and...It is our duty to support our brothers and sisters in the iron game!

I am Asian myself. A lot of people will probably tell you it's racist if we are being honest. It's not like the n word or anything, there is a c-word for that instead. But Asian people from what I've noticed are getting more sensitive, the only difference is that they aren't like joggers and approach/fight everybody about it. They just whine about it on reddit.

Anyways, I would say it's offensive if you are not actually talking about someone from China. Like if you refer a Korean guy as a Chinamen, then yeah.

No, white liberals don't care about any racism outside of black people because pretending to care about black people gives them the most virtue signal points.

Yes I understand why calling a Korean chinaman would make no sense.

Omg you bigot.

Way to assume their gender, and also way to classify them by their country! That’s not only racist, it’s also sexist

Screen shotted and sent to the ACLU
