How bad is it to squat/deadlift with a disc bulging onto spinal cord?

Hurt my back at work not lifting related, was mostly a ligament injury. Ligament healed only to find out that I also have a disc bulging onto the spinal cord that went unnoticed by the doc the first time around.

Anyways anything high rep sucks, form goes with fatigue. Searing pain in my back for 15 min then goes away. If I go heavy with good form I can do it relatively pain free. Not looking at setting any pr just don't want to lose muscle mass from doing nothing.

Push through the pain bro once you're squatting 350 for reps and deadliftinf cars, and have massive juicy quads and spinal erectors, all the gym baes and cardio bunnies will be lining up to slob ur knob. Keep hustlin cuz

You don't. I have the exact same thing, it was caused by lifting. The reality is, if you continue, you could become a paraplegic and then you are fukt. Never lift anything over your head or anything that compresses your spine. Spinal cords have the consistency of toothpaste and do not heal when damaged.

I did. He said if I didn't have any pain then it was ok to squat and deadlift. I told him I go pretty heavy without pain. But common sense tells me that it could rupture or get worse, but idk, maybe that's an impact thing from the initial movement?

I've been repping 415 until the last couple weeks. Was going a lot heavier pre injury. 415 felt better than 225 for high rep honestly.

you'll be fine, keep pushing, it'll sort itself out
Lifts:
Squat: 460x1
Bench: 400x1
Deadlift: 575x1
OHP: 250x2
Weight: 180 lbs.

Don't have heroes; look up to no one. Because as long as someone's leading the way, the best you'll ever be is second.

i have 8 bulging discs. 4 from when i was like 14.. im not quite sure what they're like right now as i haven't gotten it checked up on in a while but..

i went to neurosurgeons and everything. last time i went to doc for my back they just told me i had to stop doing things that hurt it. if something hurts, then stop

im able to do pretty much everything but i wouldn't lift absurd weight. it only hurts every now and then; usually when im standing up for a long time. i think this is when the disc pushes up against a nerve. otherwise a bulging disc is painless

edit: also, everytime i deadlifted i fuked it up. deadlift is pretty much the only thing i don't do

edit: also physical therapy was straight up ab work all day errday

Is there any danger to a cortisone shot? I know it can erode joints. I brought this up to the doc and he said that it shouldn't be an issue because there is no cartridge in the area. Don't wanna do something regretful.

I had the same thing in my neck a few years ago and it did sort itself out and healed but it wasn't bearing much weight.

i'm pretty sure discs are supposed to heal themselves within 6 months. and if they don't theres a problem

i never have tested nor tried cortisone shot. i remember the steroids they gave me didn't do chit

i was pretty young when i was looking at this chit and the surgeons advised against it since i was young. back surgeries dont have the greatest success AND if they mess up you could be in a wheelchair for life..

so i went the natural way which was physical therapy.. and, again, it was all about strengthening the core. a chit ton

Very. You can cause sciatica and that is basically life ending pain. Do not do this.....turn away, and go work on your core for the rest of time, then slowly get into squating/deading with low weight! maintenance !!
