Iphone brahs

Question about setting up the tap thing when you connect it to your card. Is there anyway to do it where it only asks to input your pass when you buy something, not every time you open the damn phone? Like when I connected it to my card everything worked and all, but it's just annoying having to input my phuking unlock number every time I turn on the damn phone, I want it to ask only when I'm using it to make a purchase but it doesn't do that. I'm on Iphone XR if that matters. Does anyone know wtf I'm talking about?
