Thoughts on your gf/wife earning more than you? (Srs)
Another thread made me think of this, gf would be making a decent amount more than me. We haven’t talked about it, but both know what we want to do career wise. I personally don’t see or have any issues with it at all

Nah, statistics show that men earn more than women & that men are happier when they out earn their woman. The only way I can see this not being the case is if she out earns you but you have the potential to out earn her eventually.

Well, i make more than my girlfriend in the form of W-2 income. But her dad is worth $60-70M and she gets passive income from him since all of the children are 1% shareholders in his Company's. So she ends up making way more than me, but doesn't make me feel any different since she's given more money than me but I earn more than her.

It’s fine if you’re both fairly successful and she just happens to out earn you
Or if you have a respectable career that just happens to not be lucrative
If she’s successful and you’re a loser it’ll likely cause issues down the road

Say she’s earning 100k and you’re doing 60k without any real path to 100k+, then yeah, no thanks Jeff.

If my Girlfriend/Wife earned more than me, I would buy a Ouija board and summon the most vicious, cruel hearted Demon in existence to transport Her to a realm outside of the laws of space/time and physics, where she would be endlessly tortured for infinite eternities, with many foul experiences and various nasty activities taking place. It's one thing to want equal pay, but to actually earn more than me would render me truly besmirched most indeed. Also I'd do it even if she earned less. However, if she earned nothing at all, I'd still do it.
JK, but seriously, nah who cares how much money a b1tch makes? As long as she buys tasty types of pizza and not foul pizza. It's one thing to enjoy Pizza Hut, but to have no understanding of the oven cookable Goodfellas brand, is unforgivable.

My two LTR girlfriends both made more than me and now my wife makes a little bit less than me. Money has never been an issue in any of the relationships. If you respect each other then it doesn't matter.

If you're still doing well yourself (like say you make 100k and she makes 150k) then I doubt it's much of an issue. When you see it become an issue is when the women realizes she married a loser and decides to level up to a non-loser (aka, she's making 150k but married some tradie husband who struggles to pull in 50-60k/year.
Basically if you're competent and have a good career yourself, I wouldn't worry if she's making more. It's mostly about being able to respect you than whether they make more than you or not.

All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

When I met my wife, she earned more than me. I started out-earning her within I think 3 or 4 years, it stayed that way for the next two decades and as of last year she finally started making a smidge more than me again.
IMO it's not particularly important if one earns more than the other, it's more about what you both bring to the table in terms of the relationship. That includes money but obviously there's many other factors.
I think the meme about not having her make more than you is because:
- having a time-intensive career (which goes with big money) is hard on relationships
- it's not great if the girl wears the pants, which may be more likely to happen with a driven career woman
- guys on this forum are horrifically insecure

Why the **** would I care? That just means more money for the both of us?
I don't derive my sense of masculinity from how much $ I make and would feel zero sense of insecurity at her making more. I find it perplexing that people would want their sig other to make less than them just to stroke their own ego.

I don't care, if she wants to leave one day in an attempt to level up she can fuk off, I won't lose any sleep over it.
I don't want to share a mortgage, I will be the sole owner of my house and my land so if she wakes up one day with different feelings and decided to leave, it wouldn't affect me.

As long as both earn enough to easily provide for the family, it doesn't matter. But no way I would ever get myself into a position where I would have to justify what I do with my money because she is the main provider. That can only end in disaster.
