Has modern society shot the human ego to new highs?
I wonder how the human ego has developed over, lets say, the last 3,000 years. From the end of the stone age till today.
In the stone, there was not so many people, not so much money, probably not the same level of status.
It seems the human ego has kinda gotten a new boost from the internet and social media. Is there something else that can boost the human ego even higher?
In modern society there are much more things to "own" and people that can watch you (attention). In the stone age, there was much less of both. I wonder if the human ego chart will reach an all time high at some point, from where it starts declining. hmm

I like to think that people in the countryside are not as ego heavy on average, but I don´t know because I´ve always lived in a city. City people usually like lots of people, attention, money and status.
