2021-2030 New Decade Resolutions [Choose 5 Things] [Measlies]
Happy Holidays Misc. Let's setup our 2021-2030 New Decade Resolutions! I'll bump this thread the first of every month of the new decade!
1) Only drink on holidays / special occasions. Alcohol is expensive, ruins macros, kills your liver + kidneys, and tolerance build up from frequent drinking intensifies these negatives. Hangovers the next day are the worst. Also if you drink less often, you'll appreciate it more when you do drink.
2) Stop smoking tobacco. Although not as immediately expensive as Alcohol, there's a clear correlation between it and lung/heart/mouth problems. (easier to do with 420)
3) Stay debt free. A mortgage, and a credit card that's paid off monthly, are the only exceptions. No car loans, no phone loans, no student loans, no xyz loans. Negative interest is dumb, and paying more for a product than it is worth is dumb.
4) Track macros on MyFitnessPal whenever possible. Sometimes you have to guesstimate, or you go to a lesser known restaurant that doesn't have macros known online, but make a goal to track it 95%+ of the time.
5) In addition to the normal workouts 5-6 days a week, do a minimum of 3 sets of pushups and 3 sets of crunches every day.
Bonus: Groceries groceries groceries. Restaurants are overpriced. I just spent $5 at Taco Bell yesterday for TWO small crunchy tacos, no sides and no drinks! F that, I'll make tacos at home for less than $0.50 each.
Bonus #2: Bye bye diet soda. Hello water, coffee, tea. Good for the body to drop this nasty habit, and good for the wallet too.
Post in this thread and receive some measlies! This will be bumped on the first every month to check in. We're all gonna make it.
My advice to anyone is to start these things NOW. Makes it easier to commit when you've already tried making it into a habit a week or 2 ahead of the goal.

1. Land 3 full time remote jobs (already picked up #2 mid December, looking good to have #3 by mid January). Then juggle them all well enough so meetings don’t overlap so I can maintain them for at least 5 years. Goal was to have the salaries combine to be at least 350k which I’m on pace for
2. Invest more. Already started this in November as well. Goal is to have a 10% yearly ROI on my portfolio
3. Take more trips even if it means doing them alone. Topping the list is Aurora Borealis (Fairbanks Alaska) and Hawaii. I’d also like to get certified for scuba diving before Hawaii and maybe take a couple quick scuba trips in Florida before deciding on the Hawaii trip.
4. Get more involved with activities on weekends in general. Doesn’t have to be major things, just getting out of the apartment more. Especially once this stupid mask sh*t is over. Some ideas I have: batting cages, join a volleyball league, sign up for an acting class, the scuba certification will also fill this for a month or so, etc. Goal is at least one fun activity every other weekend. Already bought a bat and helmet for the batting cages, plan to find time next week while work is light.
5. Bang bitches. Self explanatory

"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

For help sticking with your goals I’ve found it really beneficial to use google calendar to plan out what I want to do. I use it for work and fun/goals but I imagine if you just want to use it for your goals and skip the work part it should still help.
Plan in small pieces. For example my goal to take more trips I might block off an hour to research different locations to start off. Maybe another hour on a different day to map out activities I’d want to do their (with links or addresses of places).
I will even schedule making hotel reservations and plane tickets when the time comes to avoid procrastinating on it.
Be specific with what you want to do.
If you want to track macros more you can use it to send you notifications a couple times a day to update my fitness pal so you don’t forget.
If you want to buy groceries and cook more, schedule both on your calendar.
It sounds like a pain in the ass in theory but all it really takes is maybe 15-30 minutes of planning in your calendar every couple days and you’ll actually save time in the long run.
I like to set up my calendar at the end of the day and usually plan 2-3 days out each time. Usually takes me maybe 30 minutes, and I usually am also packing in work related stuff with fully scheduled days so you can probably do it even quicker if you just use it for your personal goals.

5 days until the new decade starts!
Big fan of your ideas though, especially #4 and #1 (assuming tobacco). Wonder if #4 would increase bedroom performance.

My biggest issue lately is waking up later than I mean to, preventing me from getting stuff I planned on doing done before work or something. You can skip me with the reps brah lol

Been a little hard keeping it up. Missing my diet soda. Saw the Cowboys playing and wanted some beers. Watched a show recently on netflix that I used to ritually grab a black and mild and smoke during it. Craved a McDonalds meal too.
Hit the gym doing one extra workout than I normally would in a given day, cooked some turkey burgers and some PB2 + Sugar free Jelly toasted sandwich. Tracked it all on MyFitnessPal, cleaned the dishes before eating. My little treadmill sprint at the end of work out felt easier than normal.
Committing still! Hope y'all are achieving your goals. Day 3, hopefully gets easier from here. Everything in the sig is accurate.
