My girlfriend's dad loves Brandy and I want to buy him a bottle for Christmas. I'm a whiskey drinker and don't like Brandy (yet). I have no clue what good Brandy is.

Anyone here know good Brandy to buy? I'm starting with a 100$ budget but open to all ideas
