Sometimes y’all are fukn meatheads
The mental health advice here is fukn retarded sometimes.
Just move on bro
Just don’t think about it bro
The past is the past bro. Just don’t dwell bro
You guys realize by the time you finish reading this post the time you started reading would be in the past too?
Yes dwelling on the past is pretty stupid and pointless. But no one wants to suffer for the sake of it. You can’t control what thoughts enter your head. You need to come to peace with your past which is what you should help someone with if you want. Sometimes people are legitimately traumatized from the one time or cumulative snowball effect of a past event or set of events. The correct thing for a depressed person is to “just be happy bro” and the correct thing for a schizo is “yo like just be normal you delusional *******.” That doesn’t at all mean that’s good advice or will help anyone in that situation. You’d be better off telling someone to get sunlight or supplement d3

A lot of advice elsewhere misses some hard non-pc perspectives here. They often take it too far to messed up ideas.

telling someone to get sunlight is pretty ableist of you op, people with severe depression have no ability to improve themselves or their mindset and are permanently trapped at no fault of their own
lmao jk, riddle me this op if depression is a brain chemistry issue why is it not diagnosed through brain scans and blood tests and then solved through prescription medications that would fix the issues that appear? Hint, its not and there are plenty of scientist aware of this. Its entirely a mindset issue and while you can't tell someone pitying themselves to get over it and expect that to work you also can't expect someone to improve without putting the effort in just like with anything else in life.

What you’re saying kinda sounds like you’re enabling the generation of pussies we have to continue being pussies. When I had social media all I ever seen on there was mental health posts and friends writing huge bibles of how they’re feeling saying it’s okay to not be okay and all that stuff. By not being firm and just saying “grow up *******” and sympathising with them you’re allowing them to adopt this mindset of being a pussy.
99% of these people that I mentioned above hve these issues because on the weekends they get blackout drunk then smash 3 bags of coke and are on a comedown for the next few days lol.
The world is an extremely soft place right now and I have no sympathy for anything or anyone. Some old school values need to be instilled in some people. “Man up” comes to mind, I don’t get how some guys have a family when they act all depressed and chit, they’re supposed to be strong providers but they suffer with all these bullchit mental health issues lol, my opinion is it’s pathetic but I can’t say this to anyone because then I’m a disgusting human being for not understanding other peoples emotions.

As someone who has depression and severe anxiety every waking second of their life as a result of adolescent psychological trauma, thank you for making this thread
I used to believe I could just talk myself out of it and lived in denial for many years
Living with mental health issues definitely teaches you empathy, that’s for sure.

There’s weight in the stop being a pussy crowd don’t get me wrong but most of them have not been at a point where that is simply not gonna do. Depending on what it is it’s a valid solution. My other problem is they offer no advice on how to actually improve. Like that guy who keeps bytching about missing his ex on here it’s great advice for him to get over it. But sometimes it’s not the answer. They aren’t offering anything. For example I might offer someone to consider emotional freedom techniques to release trauma from their body, consume fermented foods, avoid synthetic fluoride and parabens and try eating organic etc. All things that help.As someone who has depression and severe anxiety every waking second of their life as a result of adolescent psychological trauma, thank you for making this thread

It’s a complicated issue because there definitely is over diagnosing going on. The list of mental illnesses expands every year to the point where quirks are now listed as mental illnesses. There’s definitely a ploy by the pharmaceuticals to increase their customers. So they push this mental health game on all of us and everyone has something to fit in so they can push more pharma mental health drugs filled with side effects for which you have to take other drugs which have their own side effects, tolerance (needing more), and dependency (if you stop cold turkey you can badly fuk yourself up). They’ll never advocate to a person to take the less risky route first and try safer solutions as is the logical thing to do. And they claim to be for science. They literally prescribe children with ssris off of a questionnaire based on whichever drug is lacking sales this week. So the whole thing is a mess.
