Just made some turkey sausage balls...will now live off them
So I tried to make a healthier version of some sausage balls and I think it turned out great. Let me know what you think if you try it...
You’ll need a baking sheet with tinfoil and sprayed down with some nonstick. I tried wax paper and they stuck badly.
ingredients:
-1 lb of turkey sausage
-198 g (7 oz) or one pack of fat free cheddar
-1 cup of Bisquick
-3 Tbs of egg whites
Salt
Pepper
Red pepper flakes (optional)
Throw all ingredients in a bowl and mix together thoroughly by hand (it takes some work). Take a small clump (half dollar size) and roll around between hands to make balls and place them on the sheet, spaced slightly, as they will grow just a bit in size. Bake for 30 min on 350.
Should yield about 30 meatballs. In total it is exactly 1200 calories for all and at 133 g of protein. I eat half at a time as a meal. If you really want to send it over the top, drizzle some sugar free syrup over them for breakfast, or even better, some G Hughes sugar free original barbecue sauce (stuff is insanely good).
