How do people let themselves get above 12-13% BF? (Srs)

This applies to majority of the population who just want to look good. Not to people who need to be at a higher % for sport, career etc.

At around 12% pretty much everyone will be looking close to their best facially, a lot of people are just ‘ugly’ due to high bf%. Apart from that you just feel better, move better, everything fits better etc.

I’ve gotten above this bf% for the first time in ages due to rona and while I still really like how I look, it’s almost like I look like a different person to myself, compared to at 10% or so, in a bad way.

I don’t advocate for obsessive ‘looksmaxxing’, but the halo effect is very real, and being at a lean bf% is the single most important thing you can do to increase your looks and gain confidence.

Ask guys like Lee Priest, Shawn Rhoden, Jay Cutler that relaxed their diets in the off season.

There's no reason to maintain low BF and six pack abs year round.

Beer and cheesecake are awesome.

Because being puffy and full, feels way better than being shredded and starving. Most people can careless, including adult women. Stop worrying about other people, and talking down on their lifestyles to cover up your own insecurities ******.

Try staying under 12% when you're in your 40's, enjoy the crashed hormones and limp cock

I'll take 15% and boners on demand.

I don’t even mean for bodybuilders, even recreational bodybuilders.

Majority of the people who just go to the gym to ‘look good’ though, end up going way past that bf% and never end up cutting, when their goal in the first place is just to look good? Makes no sense

Because people are too lazy to cook themselves and want to eat takeout multiple times a week. Likewise, people want to eat unhealthy desserts, candy and snacks multiple times a week if not every day and a lot of people consume a lot of alcohol and other high calorie drinks multiple times a week.
LMAO at the “food taste good” BS argument. You can make delicous food without it being calorie heavy.

Most people prefer being lazy, and it’s very understandable. It’s too bad, because so many girls are too fat and it has GREATLY reduced the amount of attractive girls.

But being on drugs 24/7 feels so much better than being sober and bored. Pretty extreme analogy, but not even.

Even at a true 12% you aren’t gonna be starving all the time, maybe if you eat the same high calorie dense foods that get you way past that bf% in the first place.

I couldn’t care less what other people do and idk how this post seems like insecurity projection lmao. It’s a simple observation I’ve made from being sub 12% majority of my life, and now being past that. If more people had the discipline to get lean, especially those with self esteem/confidence issues, it would improve lives easily

Edit: and to the point most people could care less, including women. Girls are much more attracted to guys who look better in the face, and that will happen at sub 12% bf lol, all I’ll say about that.

most people are above 13% BF naturally. that's not that fat. above 20% is fat

probably most people from 15%-20% just love food. most people I know that are 10-12% bodyfat eat like girls. they bring their tiny ass lunch containers to work and eat like three tablespoons of rice an apple and put it away lol or protein shake = meal

Look brah growing up I was a real fatso. Here in Mexico we got real tasty fast food and I remember going to these restaurants every day.

Now I am 5' 10 200 lbs but at least I have a heart. That means I dont go around making threads like this and hurting people.

Once you get to a low ish bf% and are maintaining you can eat more cals than you think, at maintenance or slightly above.

And yes I have I’ve bloated up pretty nicely on some good foods this pandemic and it was not worth the short term satisfaction.

This thread is not to offend anyone or hurt any feelings. If anything the opposite, I think if most people got to around 12% and see how it impacted their life, and then had the motivation to maintain it, it would improve people’s quality of life easily.

I love food too, but it’s a balance

I agree that one should try to avoid going over that. But **** happens, OP. As long as you don't stay at 20% for too long, it should not be an issue. Don't get comfortable being fat, you have lost if you do.

I always feel really guilty once I start having a four pack instead of a six pack and I usually don't let it be like that for too long

Yeah I felt guilty months ago but it was hard to care obviously with the pandemic. Started a cut a few days ago and the regret is real, partly because I normally never have to cut very long since I don’t let myself get above 13% at the most

cause i like to eat good fukkin food

i'm around 15% bodyfat and i feel good and look good enough

don't need to be any lower tbqh.

stress and real life responsibilities make your bf percentage seem fukkin trivial in comparison. anything below 18ish percent is alright imo.
