Mike Tyson only did calisthenics
Seriously, with the exception of weighted shrugs, all his exercising was calisthenics. Why do people still say calisthenics can't build a good physique?
It was all just satire. Sorry if I offended anyone with my trolling and sickening posts. Peace and love to everyone.

People who say calisthenics can't build a good physique are retarded. But I think a combination of both are good.

Yes, I should go into training with the expectations of Mike Tyson's talent.
You can hit your muscles fairly well with largely unequipped stuff. You can isolate a little better with weights. Why make it harder needlessly?

This is false. I once stayed at a resort in Arizona that Tyson used to live at. He lifted in the weight room daily. In fact I think there is a video above which shows that weight room.
Getting closer to his scheduled fights he maybe dropped strength training to focus on explosiveness, power and flexibility, but he definitely hit the weights during his career.

1. Tyson lifted weights.
2. Tyson trained religiously, every single day from the time he was a kid to adult-hood.
3. Tyson literally had some of the best genetics on the planet. He was literally built like grown azz man at 14 years old. 5'11 200lbs+
Literally the top 1% genetics for fighting, from the time he was a kid. Furthermore if you are a relatively lean/muscled at 200lbs++ as a teenager. You can probably train however the fukk you want.

You say you do a useless routine to sell naive people on your amazingness, but really you secretly do a useful routine.
The current model is you say you're natural while doing steroids secretly.
You cannot get big, very strong, and lean without gear.

lifting isnt that good for boxing apart from low rep deads and sqauts.

Obviously, lifting wasn't the *only* thing Tyson did to get where he did. First off, he had top 0.01% genetics for boxing, as others have said. Secondly, he trained like a fkn animal in the gym in every way possible, from cardio, to lifting, to calinthestics, to boxing work practice in general. Lastly, like all athletes anywhere near his level, he was on some high quality OJ for his time.
Having said all of that - you are literally retarded if you can think you'd ever be a fraction of what prime Mike Tyson was physically as an average Joe just doing bodyweight workouts and obsessing over diet habits.

You really think a guy who DGAF, used to beat people up for fun, break into homes, etc...didn't use the juice to gain an edge - just like almost all boxers do? He definitely was skilled and naturally gifted, but so are a lot of professional athletes - and spoiler alert - most pros dope in some way. Heck even that famed olympic female soccer team likely had dopers. Ever see Hope Solo's nudes? Women don't get a cl*t like that without serious test use. People on my highschool football team took butt darts just to compete for heavens sake. It is WAY more common that people think.I literally a posted a video of Tyson weight lifting, and OP has jack chit to say about it.

Cut back on the soy.
I literally hurt your feelings discussing a well know sales technique in bodybuilding sales.
And, given that you're "50" like most posters on the misc at his point, but just joined a year ago, I am both shocked, yet understanding, of your naivete.

Squats and deadlifts are completely pointless to boxers. When boxers do them, it’s just for fun.
Boxing is all about stamina and technique srs. Strength is irrelevant.
The power and effectiveness of the punch comes from timing (you opponent not seeing the punch) and technique (torque)

technique, stamina is obviously more important but some deads and sqauts for low reps can be beneficial IMO
