Just threw a $1000 watch in the trash can

Won´t even bother selling it. The more stuff I throw away the more free I become. It´s all about requiring less thorughout life, not more. Fukk that watch was ugly anyways and who the hell uses watches anyways lol? I have thrown away most of my belongings over the last year, only things I use remains.

The less you are attached to, the more free you feel.

I bought a 10$ watch on Amazon as a stop gap between getting a better daily beater.

But rather than be an ******* like op, I listed it for free on OfferUp.

Amazing how many people were hitting me up for a used 10$ watch though, dude seemed thankful when I gave it to him.

It was a seiko something. Battery was broken. Watches are useless, we need to genocide them.

The watch was worth around $650 actually. I just rounded up to $1000 because it made for a better thread title.

Giving it to someone would be better!

However, you are correct.

A 1,000 dollar watch is what communists call a "Commodity fetish" and is craziness.

A fetish is a useless activity and when that's coupled with products it's a product that doesn't really do anything but it prized due to its expense, brand, etc.

So, a watch is really just a watch and it's doesn't do much else.

If it was a James Bond laser watch, then it's worth a 1000, lol.

You don't need products that don't do anything and that you have to defend psychologically to justify having.

Enjoy life for what it is and stay honest.

This.

OP Could have spent that $1000 on bitcoin back when he bought that trash watch and could have probably afforded a patek.

The moral of the story is if you can't afford a $5,000+ watch don't waste your money on a cheap $1,000 watch. Better off to buy something really cheap for a hundred bucks or better yet no watch at all. Don't spend $1,000 for junk. If you spent less than $5,000 you're buying junk and throwing away your money as it has little or no resale value.

This.

Can’t imagine being so selfish that I wouldn’t give it to a friend who was t as well off or even a stranger. It’d make their whole week if some guy just gave them something of value. I’m not materialistic at all so I wouldn’t have even bothered in the first place nor would I wear a watch period but most people aren’t like that.
