Is their even a point in trying to be a good worker?
or are you just gonna get cucked?
i spent that last year doing hella good. always on time. took all the OT available... kissed butt and tried to be friends with management and it got me no where... i still just got the usual cost of living raise which was like 1.3%... asked for more but "not in the budget". makes me just wanna get back on that slack time. you can do really well and you'll still just get used or you can be like the other lazys and barely get by and still make the same. i dont wanna live that life but its like wtf is the point of putting in work if youre not gonna get recognition for it? i dont wanna slack away but its confusing to wanna put it work and don get appreciated for it... its been like this for the last 3 companys. you gotta kiss butt big time and be in on manangements family if you wanna make it. otherwise you are just a good worker getting used. no point in trying (not how i wanna live).

Find a company that actually rewards their employees for hard work, they exist.
Or just slack off (bare minimum not to get fired or given warnings) during your 40 hours, get a paycheck and put your energy in things that you enjoy or side hustles that could become your main income.

Yea bro, it really stings. plenty of managers have come up to me and told me they feel my pain...
So never again, will I work that hard. Only do the minimum to keep my job. Honestly lets see if my boss lasts a year without me doing what I did...

Chances are you won't get what you're looking for at your current job. You move up by moving on. Don't get so attached to something you can't walk away.

If you're at a good company yeah. Privately owned, mid size companies seem to be the sweet spot for employment.
Certain large public companies.......no thanks jeff.

BRB we offer raises and COL bumps in pay. BRB BRB yet to be seen.
BRB the corporate execs are all family members buying out competing companies.
At the very least, I'm in a position where I can chill and work on other things, namely school lol.

Last year I got the usual 22% raise, and I worked less hard than the year before.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

I totally know that feeling. It's going to get worse as they start adding more and more affirmitive action type programs where what you are is more important than who you are. Hard work does pay off but it take a long time.

Many companies choose to remain private for this reason, they believe they can operate more efficiently if they don't have to answer to public shareholders. An example would be rewarding star employees, the stonk market wouldn't like it in the short term, but long term it makes good business sense.
And if the company is large, the stupidity is even larger.
Brb entire departments laid off just cause an exec read a random article on forbes
Brb 1% raises so it'll look good in the next quarterly 10q
Brb layoff even more departments and replace them with indian sweatshop consultancies who don't add any value

depending on what kind of work you do, sometimes it is expected for you to jump from job to job as a way of getting good raises. at least until you find a company that's worth staying at for a smaller pay

More important to get along with the manager. I've worked hard in all my jobs but the chad who gets along with everyone always ends up with promotions while the uglycels get fked.

Things are only going to get worse in the next decade once this "great reset" sets in.
The soviets had a saying "they pretend to pay me and I pretend to work." Innovation will be a thing of the past and hard workers will be ridiculed as suckers by their co-workers.
Qouta's for food and bene stamps are the wave of the future boyos.

Bare minimum to not get fired crew
the good news is most managers are starting to catch on themselves and it's almost an unspoken rule for everyone to do the bare minimum all across the board hahaha

"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

You can work hard and get it done? Guess what you gonna get? even more work lol
That’s what hard working employees get. But trust me if you get it done you also get better pay - just gotta put in that time.
Many times you gotta ask for it tho which suck but if you’re good - they know you are good.
If they don’t care - fuk them and move on. We all gotta be smart in this day and age

It's not about "being a good worker and friedns with everyone".
It's about being so good and have skillz that makes you not easily expendable. So when you are asking for a raise they have no other choice but to submit or you will leave and get other job just like that.
Speaking out of experience.

-Some people say good things come to those who wait, truth is, good things come to those who work..... who work later.....who work harder...... who are willing to go further than anyone else to get them. If you're waiting for good things to come to you, you'll be waiting for a pretty long time.
-I'd rather live life saying "I failed" than "I could have"

You just have to work a little harder than the worst employee, and still know that you are expendable at any point. I work at one of the worlds largest private companies, and I have a milk crate full of employee badges behind me that I canceled access on. Literally thousands of people from the U.S., Japan, India all fired. Went through stack after stack and saw their faces and titles reduced to just another pile in the milk crate. Pretty humbling experience to see someone who has been with a company for probably 5 or 10 years reduced to another face in the pile.

Most companies don't reward hard work. In fact they would just expect more from you if you work hard. Just do the bare minimum, and save your energy for a side gig that will eventually turn into your main gig
