getting back into lifting when you've given up
gotten soft lately boyos ever since the covid gym shutdowns in April. Gyms have been open for a while now but it feels impossible to get back into shape. Was thick, solid, tight in the first half of 2020 and now i'm chubby and weak. How do you get back into it? I go once or twice a week but chit feels impossible
We're all gonna make it crew
just decide on what you ACTUALLY want and then make it happen. thats it. ignore the rest and put in the work and one day you'll find your happy - vampirelol

No man has the right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training. It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable.

Muscle memory is very real, from personal experience if you’re starting completely detrained, you can gain strength back till around 75% of what your peak was while in a pretty big deficit, then you need to be at maintenance+
You’ll gain muscle back much faster than you think, I’m in a similar situation though gyms just closed here and I’m now cutting back to 10% or so when I usually never go above 12%. Sucks but just gotta do it tbfh

I think it's a lot easier with more specific goals. Like chasing pullup pr's or doing a muscle up or something like that. That way you'll have a reason to look forward to the session itself instead of the more long term result of looking like you did before
But yeah regardless, it won't take near as long since you were already there before
