Gym already packed with New Years Resolutioners

Had to wait 20 minutes for a squat rack
Had to wait for a bench (never happened before)
Every treadmill is full
They are all wearing their new gymshark gear they got for Christmas

Why do these people waste their time with a gym membership when they will never return after the 15th of this month?

Why is it the first thing the fattest POS does is go on the treadmill and try to run 4 miles lmfaoo thats not it mane. No wonder 99% of these azzwipes wont make it past 3 weeks. Also I see "bros" and "lifters" all the time with chitty form and doing dumbazz things that will give them an injury before anything. If you need help ask!

Went in Sunday morning for what is usually a very good time to get a nice workout in with very few people... they were everywhere.

The worst part is that none of them do normal workouts brb using 3 machines to circuit train because they are next to eachother even though I don't even know what muscles they target

I'm always torn on this because we were all that person at one point or another. It would be nice if people would observe common etiquette, though. Taking up multiple machines, benches etc is very annoying. Nothing makes me want to pull my hair out more than someone sprinting up to me because they "were using that," even though they hadn't used it in ten minutes.

I really wish there was a mid-range gym in my town. We basically have $30 and less gyms then you have those stupid places like orange theory then lifetime fitness which isnt worth the $150/mo price tag. I'd pay for a $50-$60/mo option which I feel would keep out the riff raff.

this

I'm at a $20 a month one now and it's at that range where all the ultra plebs are at the PF down the street, but still not expensive enough to keep crowds down.

Hope everyone is having a good start to 2021 and I am hoping some good deals show up on CL or FB marketplace kn Atlanta area.

This is definitely true to some degree.

This is going to sound selfish but what actually bothers me is that 95% of these people will quit after 2 weeks and never come back (until next January), so when one of them is taking up the machines that I am trying to use it pisses me off because they are wasting my time since they have no business lifting if they arn't going to commit beyond a few weeks.

Went home gym last year and never looking back. Ironically still have an Anytime Fitness membership that won't be up until this summer, but whatever lol.

I already have a really good setup now, but excited to keep working on the garage. Still doing some work with the flooring and lighting, it'll look very cool and also cozy once I'm done.

Bench area and dumbbells way more crowded than normal today. But what's really weird this year, is the resolutioners are filling up the squat racks. I've never seen so many quarter/half squats being done at once in my life.

Yep I'm at lifetime have been since I think... 2010? or something like that and have kept my membership since moving state to state. I thought about going to a brand new golds that's closer to my house but I think I've just gotten use to lifetime and all their perks and too comfortable to explore other options.

Everyone wants to be a powerlifter brah. Even if you only do leg day twice a year with half rep 225 squats, you can still tell people you "squat at the gym"

Not even talking about skinnyfat mostly grossly overweight and even if skinny fat id say get your diet right first before you even attempt to step foot in a gym. But its obvious that if you are more than 30+ lbs overweight and havent been to a gym in years or ever the first thing you wouldnt want to do is attempt to run. You will hurt yourself before you even have a chance to lose weight and make gains.

I've also noticed a younger crowd of resolutioners this year, no more 45 year old dad bods. Mostly 22-25 dudes, gymshark everything, half rep squats
