Going to Nashville with my girl at the end of the month and was hoping to get some recommendations from locals and brahs that have visited before. We'll be staying very close to Broadway and Fourth Ave.

Along with obviously hitting up the bars and restaurants in the area we were hoping to do some hiking while there. Open to driving up to 1-1.5 hours outside of downtown for some nice scenic hiking.

It's a bit chitty that everything closes at 10PM currently but we will make the best of it.

Gaylord hotel, srs^^^ the gf will love it. Also Jack Daniels distillery tour is really cool and worth the hour drive.

Went last year. Legends and Whiskey Bent were awesome, especially the latter as I was there on a Monday night and they played rock music.

I went last year and had a blast. Those Broadway bars are very fun and have extremely good artists playing constantly. Be sure to get some hot chicken too.

Also, if you're a history nerd like me, Andrew Jackson's house "Hermitage" was awesome to visit.

Thanks brahs. Really looking forward to seeing the artists at the Broadway bars, have heard nothing but great things. I love history but i'm not sure my gf would want to spend one of the afternoons there.

The Great Smoky Mountains is only about 40 mins away. Good for outdoors stuff.

Bars will be open, but it won't be as exciting as it usually was.

There are a lot of excellent restaurants in Nashville. Some of my favorites are Five Points Pizza, Black Rabbit, Sunda, Hawker's Asian Street Food, Two Ten Jack and The Baked Bear (awesome ice cream sandwiches near college bars).

If you aren't loading up on hot chicken to the point where you wake up in the middle of the night with explosive diarrhea, then you are doing Nashville wrong.

Hattie B's is overrated. I prefer Pepperfire, but they closed and are opening a new location soon. I would go to Prince's Hot Chicken.

Will absolutely get my fill of hot chicken while there. That has been on the list well before we even planned this trip.

I'll check out the Great Smokey Mountains as well.

Some scenic hikes that I've found within 1-2 hours from our hotel are Cummins Falls, Fall Creek Falls and Short Springs Natural Area. Anyone have experience with any of these?

For the bars, just walk down broadway and go into whichever one you think looks cool. It's totally possible to go to almost all of them, it's not that big, but in general just go to the one that looks fun to you and yours. It's a good time, there's not any that is way above the rest. I would say if I had to pick one, go to one of the ones with a roof top bar for that Nashville Broadway shot you see on social media all the time.

Food wise, Jacks on Broadway is good BBQ right there in the middle of everything.

The Jack Daniels distillery is actually really fun. It's a quick tour that's interesting and will give you a nice little memory of Jack Daniels every time you see it in the store.

Johnny Cash museum is right there in downtown and you can walk through it in 30 minutes and it's pretty interesting. Same thing with country music hall of fame - not sure if those are open now though.

When I was just there visiting after living there for a few years I stayed at the Westin, they have a cool rooftop bar and glass wall pool that's super fun to drink at and lounge at Nice views - picked it for the rooftop pool but the room was nice too. You can make reservations at the pool without having a room.

If you really like the bar scene and not so much Broadway, you can go to D street where more of the locals (And college kids) go - Winners, Losers (names of bars), Tin Roof, etc.

There's a nice bridge - the Cumberland Pedestrian Bridge - that is like 20 minutes from Nashville or something, it's nice and quiet and leads to a good hiking trail. It's a pretty nice hike outside the city.

The Gaylord is pretty awesome, pretty short uber to Broadway. Concur with the brah that said find a cool rooftop bar. I've only been once but had a blast. Also met the hottest lady cop ever and drunkenly asked her for a picture. Really glad I didn't arrested.

Used to live in Nashville, but haven’t been back since COVID so double check with venues on info below.

If you haven’t been before you cant really go wrong with any of the bars on Broadway. Consider hitting Tootsies esp and note that music changes via floor with the rooftop portions usually being more of a club atmosphere.

If you’re there on a Tuesday be sure to check out Revival in Midtown (Music Row) if its happening for good local artists and writers. If you want to hit the BlueBird Cafe, its a bit of a drive from downtown but you can usually do a walk up if there’s only a small line and be nice to security because generally 5 or so folks dont show.

For food: I’m not sure since Covid but the move if you want Hattie B’s is always order it on Uber eats, screw waiting in the around the block line. Ignore Biscuit Love in the Gulch, its overrated breakfast, go to Frothy Monkey instead. BBQ is all about Peg Leg porker, avoid the Hooters its one of the worst I’ve been to, Acme Feed n Seeds is okay nothing special, the national chains near broadway are generally chit actually.

If you’re willing to spend a little more cash I HIGHLY recommend Etch for a nice dinner, smoked old fashioned there is the best in town as well. Taratorria il Mulino is right next to the downtown hilton and is pretty good as well. My fav hot chicken was Boltons, but would not recommend if your not local because they “run out” of chicken and fish a lot of times.

Johnny Cash Museum is good and some nights House of Cards is in the bottom as a speak easy/magic show and good dinner/fun.

Hiking: you’re like 4 hours from GOAT smokies in East Tennessee, but Percy Priest and Raydnor Lake are good.

Hotels: Gaylord used to be cool but is mostly a shopping mall so GF may like, Downtown Omni, Westin, Union Station, and a smaller place called Bode are all pretty walkable and good.

Edit: Cummins Falls isn’t bad, but just not super impressive and a smallish park. Closest cool outdoors is really going to be around Chattanooga, I would definitely recommend a day if you really want outdoors and can swing it to hit Gatlinburg and do the LeConte Lodge or Gregory’s Bald hike.
