Of course why not? So long as the pair aren't emotionally over invested in politics.

Yes because what you want to happen in your house is different for what you want to happen outside your house.

And its what happens inside your house that matters in relationships.

I had a fwb for 6 months who was and still is a staunch liberal/leftist. I lean conservative but was and still am mostly quiet about politics. We fukked like rabbits as much as possible but she admitted one day that we’d never work out because “Trump is abhorrent” in her eyes. I told her I’m not some crazy trumper and that I’ll admit whenever he or the republicans make stupid arguments which was true. But by that time she had done her homework on me and already saw that I had liked/followed a bunch of conservative pages on my ******** and that was enough for her, lol.

although my most recent ex gf was liberal, we got along very well. except her family were full blown liberals and I had to see the “dump Trump” bumper stickers on their cars every time I pulled up to their house. we didn’t break up due to politics, I just got bored. But in hindsight it would have been an absolute nightmare to keep my mouth shut around her family every single time she dragged me over there.

It depends on the variables and how much flex both of you have when it comes to hearing out the other side.

I was with a girl for 5 years. At the beginning she was a leftist. Then eventually logic prevailed and she came around. That and she got sick of losing arguments

Two people from opposite political viewpoints can absolutely have a relationship and even marry, as long as neither one of them are at the extreme end of the spectrum. Doesn't matter whether you're liberal or conservative, don't enter a relationship if they are far left or far right.

lol brilliant. You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to bfdehewdbyywhn again.

Yes it does work, in certain circumstances. My views and my partners views are not the same. Obviously far right male & far left female will not work. There has to be some form of common ground in regards to beliefs - Ours are home values & male/female relationship roles. She doesn't agree with my views politics outside of that, but she still listens to me drabble on and gives the odd argument back, but thats no different than arguing about perspectives in a movie imo.

You can't truly love anyone you don't respect. If they have polar beliefs then you're just living a lie. Yes it's possible, but it isn't true appreciation. There are certain issues where there is no room for grey areas or mental comprise. You will also increase your chances of a divorce later down the line if it involves your children's upbringing or how you are building your future.

Back in the 90s and early 2000s, it wasn't uncommon for a democratic voter to hang out with a republican voter and have constructive dialogue.... those days are long gone now....

People are too entrenched, their egos and sense of identity are tied to the their politics now.....

My wife and I differ on political stances. She leans left, but not to the point of irrational and blind following like many. She is willing to intelligently debate talking points and agrees with me on some of my stances. We are both mature adults however who don't let politics define us however.

No chance a far left and far right person get along though.

This.

Communication makes for a good relationship as well. So if politics come up, if you already established good communication, you should be able to have civil discussions and acceptance even if you don’t agree.

That said IME there are a ton more liberals and liberal women who are so extreme in their “if you’re a conservative you’re a horrible human being” and are unwilling to have an actual intelligent discussion than conservative women.

The issue is, I feel like with the MSM and social media(and their censorship and agenda pushing) it’s going to be harder to find someone on the opposite political spectrum who is actually willing to be civil and have an open mind.

It’s gotten to the point where I am friends with coworkers and stuff, whom I know lean left if it far left and I feel it can seriously make them judge me and effect my work environment if I even make it known I’m a republican. That type of thing is making the OP harder and harder to do. I see it with girls my age and dudes my age, who I went to school with(31). I think if you graduated HS by like 2004, it should be fine, because both sides were taught to think for themselves and largely avoided all the bias in today’s news/schools/etc

Don't listen to these guys, the obvious answer is "no". If you are on opposite sides of the political spectrum, that means one of you is a dirty little commie scumbag. His/her friends will also be dirty little commie scumbags. If you consider yourself to be a conservative (and I am not talking about being a "republican" because most of them are also dirty little commie scumbags), then why would you desire to be trapped in a relationship with someone who wants to tear this country apart, brick by brick and turn it into a socialist hellhole?

But hey, what do I know? Go ahead and marry that leftist piece of **** but don't come back here crying when she starts dressing your sons in skirts and telling them they can be girls if they want. Just my 2 cents...
Expect nothing. Live frugally on surprise.

Lol at anyone who says yes.
No conservative man is going to put up with the screeching and whining of a liberal woman long term.
No conservative woman is ever going to date a liberal man in the first place.
I dated a liberal once and it was annoying as fuk. The amount of self-righteous hypocritical bull**** that came out of her mouth was unfathomable.

You either convert your woman to your more conservative beliefs or you dump her. Liberal men are real men anyway so they don’t matter.

It's not possible to be sincere friends with someone who has different values. The "friendships" you see are fraud. One person ends up pretending, and telling lies by omission. Imagining listening to long political diatribes and you just say "uh-huh" and "terrible", but your actual thoughts are just dismissed as "retarded" so you never tell them. As a conservative, it's like being in a college classroom forever.
The sticking point with me is letting felons out of prison to reoffend. No way that's okay unless some people are more or less sacrificed to the felons. It's as if some liberals think that letting dangerous felons out of prison is good because the entire self of the kid that the felon rapes just doesn't matter. Said another way: If someone said, "I would sacrifice your childhood to satisfy the sexual needs of a felon so I could let the rest of the world be amazed at my mercy toward the felon," you'd realize that you don't count as a human being. So, an uneasy truce is only possible if you kill your ego every damn day. That's doable, but I'll be hog tied and shot before I ever brought a kid into a world knowing that the kid would be steeped in liberal "mercy" toward felons.
