Anyone Ever Got Gum Grafting Done (Srs thread)

Anyone ever got it done?
what is your situation? gum disease / recession?
did it fix everything?

I'm planning to do it on 2 of my teeth soon and then other teeth that arent as bad.
Obv the fear is losing teeth but not there yet. Have some sensitivity issues and discomfort that comes and goes randomly.
didnt take my dental health seriously enough growing up + brushed too hard and fam was broke so never went to dentist until was older and found out some things.

Anyone have experience with this? or any dentist brahs here? srs

I got it done a few years back. Expensive, but worth it. Had it done on two teeth.

Get ready. It’s painful AF. Worse than wisdom teeth coming out.

Your diet will be chit for a couple weeks. And you’ll be out of the gym too. Follow your periodontist instructions to the T because when you don’t failure rates are way up there and you won’t want to deal with this a second time.

Good luck, boyo.
You’ll need it.
You have my word as a Schons.

My gf had recedding gum lines from bad habits earlier in life and went to the dentist for grafting surgeries. Process was fairly easy and safe; she couldn’t move her jaw much first two days or chew hard food for 2 weeks but the guns were lifted back into position after a few months.

was it just recession or did they say you had gum disease?
you only had 2 teeth that were receded overall? or just 2 that you wanted to fix?
they say I have periodontitis but I swear its just cuz I brushed too hard when I was younger. I also think I grind my teeth in my sleep but this has never been addressed by them. I think I should get a mouthguard for further prevention after the surgeries.
Just scared and want to protect myself for future =(. Especially if it actually is periodontitis.. cuz they say thats permanent and cant be cured.

My two bottom teeth never had roots for adult teeth, so I had two baby most of my life. One eventually fell out, and the other was becoming loose. I decided to finally do something about it and payed for the dental procedure. Since I never had those adult teeth, my gums never fully developed where those 2 teeth were. I had to get a skin graft before they would proceed with the bridge. It wasn't as bad as I thought it will be. I was able to manage the pain with prescription pain pills for the first couple days, and after that, I used Ibuprofen. I was only limited in what I could eat a couple days as well. After that, I just chewed more slowly and carefully as not to irritate the area the skin was pulled from.

i have 4'' recession on my canines. at first the dentist said i might need grafting cus i was having tooth pain but antibiotics and a cleaning session took the pain away so he said forget it.

my teeth are really straight tho. every time i go to the dentist they scold me for having good teeth genetics but not flossing. i brush before i leave the house, never before sleeping.

I fukked up my beautiful gums by dipping tobacco. Big recession on lower gum line.

May look into this some day. At least the top is still 10/10
