Fuk I hate updates.

Am I the only one that never updates?

I never update chit. Turned off Windows update back when I was on dial-up cause it was slowing down a already chit connection. Or Windows update was waking the computer in the night and dialing in and tying the phone line till whenever I shut it off.
Seems like every time I've ever updated anything there more bloatware
Been swiping these 2 ******* messages off my phone since 2015.

So you update, and then 2 days later there's another notification that there's a new update available.
Fist yourself Google.

Cliffs - fukk updates.

The worst is when you update and then your chit breaks or the "update" is just more ads or some chit.

I was playing around with LInux Mint last spring and it worked pretty nice. I want to look around for another computer and install it again or install it in virtual box.
I installed it on a Acer desktop and it ran way nicer than Vista that it originally came with. The only issue I was having was with Wine installing. Otherwise for web browsing it was great.

Running XP on it for the time being.

im not planning on dual booting so i dont need wine yet. my only problem ive run into is with programs like spotify that dont automatically install and you have to go through the process of installing through terminal. I did it several times and it still didnt work

And this
They either fukk it up, or slow it down, or plug the system full of bloatware.
Apple got busted a while back for installing a update that slowed down the older Iphones down to force users to go out and buy a new one.

I can see myself getting more into Linux in the future.
I don't like any Windows OS made after XP. So it's something to look into.

When I installed it I needed a OS on that computer for a job and didn't have much time to play around with it.
There's a bit of a learning curve to it and hunting down software.

I've had two computers crash during an update.

Like others have said, seems that a lot of updates slow your computer down because they are adding things, most of them you don't need.

Fuk YES. Im running windows 7 professional - the closest version to XP, although i think they've discontinued it now - I turned automatic updates off as soon as i got it. Never had a problem with it either.

Xbox one seems like it needs a 150mb+ update every month, i think most of it is advertising ffs

Don't update

It's going to completely mess up your system, just turn automatic updates off

Yeah I think I heard windows 7 is done for updates. I never did bother with it. I was too pissed off at Vista to invest anything in 7 but I heard it was an improvement. Ended up just sticking with XP sp3 and I'm still running it.

Only problem I have with XP is finding decent web browsers that work properly now.
Firfox is about it now for https.
