How I did it for those curious.
I started with 1900 cals a day but now I eat 2100-2300 calories per day, never really was specific on exactly what I ate.
Pretty much ate whatever including fast food.
If you're counting cals from places with a nutrition sheet add 10-15% as it's never accurate.

Cut out beer completely except once in a while as a treat, drink straight scotch or vodka when I do drink.
If I mix it's with diet soda.

Berries are a fukken godsend.
Raspberries is the greatest chit on this planet, if you disagree you can go chit yourself.

Don't take preworkout but make a veggie/berry/protein smoothie to drink before, during, and after the workout.
Giant handfull of frozen kale, spinach, 2 cups of strawberries/blueberries/raspberries, scoop of vanilla protein powder, vanilla extract, and flax seeds

Gives clean not jittery energy and I feel way less tired or dead after a workout.

Cardio is great, I was running 2 miles a day but swapped that for shuffle/hiphop dancing for 2 hours every other day and the weight dropped significantly faster.
I have a slow as fuk metabolism but doing that allowed me to increase my cals to maintain this weight and not pay attention as much to what I'm eating.

Do not cut out all treats and snacks, mental health is huge and it's a great moral boost making it easier.
Get popcorn kernel and pop your own, wicked low cal and delicious as fuark with some salt and jalapeno powder.
light icecream popsicles are like 90-110 cals and are pretty damn good.
small packs of kitkats are relatively low cal.
Quality protein bars that taste good is actually sweet enough to be a desert on it's own.

Don't be afraid of blowing your cals on a big azz meal when going out, just adjust your cals accordingly.

Slow the fuk down when eating, don't eat till you feel full eat till your comfortable this mostly helps when dining out.

Good job OP

and I agree with you, I think a lot of people make the mistake of just trying to go cold turkey on junk foods they enjoy when the more sensible approach is to limit it and/or still enjoy it from time to time. It works for some people but it's more of a lifestyle rather than something you do as a 60 day challenge, so most people after those 60 days just go right back to doing the same chit that got them fat. obv if you are trying to be lean or XXaestheticsbrahXX9000 the approach might be a little different.

I need to lose a bit of weight as well, right around 200 lbs right now eating 2300 cals approx but sedentary af aside from running 5x a week and lifting at home. Considering hopping on PSMF just to make things a bit easier. 180 lbs would be pretty ideal for me, which was where I was around pre-pandemic before I went full bloatlord.

All cardio and no lifting?

What is the next goal?

If you had to start over, what would you do differently?

How did covid in nyc impact the process?

PSMF works but personally it's not long lasting or sustainable and causes binge habits in my opinion.
Everyone is different however slightly adjusting cals to 2100 should give a loss for you and is still easy to maintain then slowly adjust when you hit a wall after a week or two.

Good luck brother!

I still lift 3x a week but it's not a total focus for me right now, I need to make it more of a focus but primarily dancing is my focus.
Next goal is maintain and continue losing some fat while lifting and hoping some of the loose skin bounces back.

If I had to start over I'd get a airfryer no joke lol. Makes portions and cooking easier.
Additionally not take a few months break from lifting.

Covid didn't really affect me since I have a home gym, but food choices changed due to availability. Actually Covid helped me this year since I got into VR and back into dancing.
It's something I loved as a kid and didn't think I'd be able to do shuffle with my knee but I'm able to do it now, make people laugh and generally makes me feel good.

I can dance hard for 2-3 hours everyday completely drenched in sweat and feel great.

Think my previous post I was mid 170s, thanks for the kind words homie.

Biggest difference is probably moving. Besides the cardiovascular health from running and dancing I literally feel like a feather moving.
Before I was aware of moving/walking/doing things, now it's like I'm not even there it's really hard to explain.

Can do way more advanced moves while dancing, I can do handstands while dancing, do tucks and other flexibility movements.

Having sex is night and day difference, I'm not winded, dink is way bigger, I can slam a lot faster and harder.

Hoping in a year or two it slims down, if not I'll go for surgery or hop on dat dere to fill it out.

Thanks man, yeah I'll give it a couple years before making that decision, loving it.
I'm way happier overall as well, a lot of my depression episodes have gone away.
Sleep is still finicky but eh, one step at a time.

welcome to the club hehe
Lmao thanks Swissbrah, yeah I completely forgot to attach the before so that was my bad.
I'm 5'11" some how grew an inch after losing the weight think from the compression of the spine srs.
But yeah I store my fat on my hips and back like a woman, chit sucks. Think I'd need to get to 160/155 to drop that completely. Like ribs are visible abs are somewhat there, but got hamburgerhelper handles.

Hoping to just maintain for a while and keep lifting and doing cardio to slowly recomp.

for now - yea you can drop some BF% since you don't really have muscle and still store some fat .. but slowly you'll "have" to start lifting hard and making muscle gainzzz

godspeed boyo
Thanks for the advice boyo, I'll start making lifting a better focus for me instead of a side thing.

Have like no free time to be honest but it's fulfilling.
Ahhhh gotcha. That's a lot of dancing. Sounds cool though to do it in VR.

I think where you hold weight is a big factor there. I held onto 235-240 for a couple years but my weight was distributed evenly, I was soft all over and didn't really have a massive gut or moobs, so when I did cut down I didn't have any loose skin. I did only lose 55 or 60 lbs where OP lost 85 though

BTW congrats OP
