Is it just me or is there alot of abuse towards IT workers? it's like the people who need stuff are completely helpless (from lack of technical skills or lack of access) and except you to give them what they want quickly and accurately which usually never go well together. Maybe they don't think we're human or something since we're always working with a computer.

It can feel like a glorified customer service gig at times. In my experience, older people who know phuck all about technology tend to dish out the most hostility.

If I get shat on, at least it will be by a guy who knows what he's talking about, as opposed to some non-techie micro managing not knowing wtf he's talking about etc
