How do you feel about Double IPAs over 10% ABV

it takes real skill to make them taste good imo. easy to make a 10% beer that tastes like sticky chit syrup.

having one from other half brewing right now. it drinks like a 6-7% ipa. fuking delicious.

IPA’s are for hipster *******s. Tastes like you’re drink potpourri or shampoo. You want to actually enjoy your drink AND get fukked up? Stick with Belgians, specifically tripels. Recommendations:
Alagash tripel
Duvel

I started into "craft" beer with a bunch of Belgians, but IPAs will take you in with enough time an exposure. They are just superior.

To the OP, most DIPAs I like best are in the 8% - 9% range.

It always surprises me when i have a decent strong beer and im like damn this does not taste this strong, as compared to my malt liquor lmao.

i also got into the world of beer through belgians but IPAs fuked my taste buds and i can have a belgian now and then but they are too sweet to session for me. i can drink 4-5 DIPAs in a row. 4 tripels or quads? that's diabeetus brother.

7-9% i think is the sweet spot for most IPAs/DIPAs but when you make 10 and up taste really good, that's a skill imo.

IPA’s are def an acquired taste for most. I love them now. I can’t stand drinking low ABV beer that’s like water and takes a case just to catch a buzz.

There’s a local place around here that make a few really great craft beers. I use to think it was just a hipster thing but sitting down and catching a great buzz off 2 beers is goat.

i dont understand this chit. especially in 2021. there are so many different kinds of IPAs. theres no way that you cant find one of them enjoyable.

in my experience....and everyone's body is different.....beer calories dont hit the same way as cake calories, pizza calories, pasta calories etc etc
