Any kind of range weapon.

I saw a guy wrap his shirt around his weak forearm to block once, and it looked effective.

I believe if your empty handed taking on a guy with a knife, you should just know you’re probably going to get cut, and to try and limit that to areas where there are vital parts/ arteries...

Blade of arm, shin etc....

Then you try and escalate the violence quickly enough that the attacker is neutralized as quickly as possible.

You always charge a guy with a gun. With a knife you run away. So you charge with a gun, with a knife you run.

this is where kicks come in srs

teep combo or sidekicks (only if you're good at them)

the range of a kick is incredible if you've ever performed an actual martial arts kick, especially the side kick

i'm rusty though so i'd probably **** up every kick except the teep lol. but a solid teep could make the dude drop the knife or he could lose his balance and fall backwards

low IQ's ITT

ideally you want to use your non dominant arm as a shield against the knife

your arm getting cut up will do nothing

doesn't look strong, but can guarantee as someone who held pads against kicks like these, the impact is stronger than any punch.

you do what you can and anticipate that you'll likely get stabbed, if you cannot run.

It is more likely than not that if you cannot wrest the knife from their grasp or pin their hand, you will be lethally injured.

You're going to get stabbed, it's up to you to prevent the stab from being in a place that's fatal. There is no coming out of that situation without getting stabbed because real life is not like the movies.

In this scenario I’d use the shopping cart to separate myself from the guy with the knife

This^^^

A sidekick has so much power because of the chambered leg.

Spinning/turning sidekick> step theu sidekick> skipping sidekick> sidekick.

Ive always preferred either the skipping to close midrange distance or the step thru to close further distances.

Step thru has the most accuracy to power ratio imo. One of them on your knee cap or thigh and you're not walking.

Hold him at bay and push with a shopping cart or kick him Sparta style. Risky if he quickly reacts and nicks your leg though.

In a realistic modern scenario:

With a rifle/carbine at a long distance

Then a pistol

Then finally a knife

I would put it forward that if YOU (op) were the aggressor, had the element of surprise, were committed, and were physically and mentally prepared to inflict that level of violence the chances are good you could kill the person before your adversary really could defend themselves.

If the reverse is true and you are the one getting stabbed/cut you will probably die unless you run, assuming you even have a knife, identify the threat, and can deploy it against a threat.
