TIL: Average People Actually Take the Flu Vaccine

Friend comes from a typical suburban, white, moderately conservative middle class family.

Friend: I need to get the rona vaccine.
Me: Why? It'll just mutate.
Friend: Just keep getting new vaccines like the flu.
Me: You take flu vaccines?
Friend: Every flu season, since I was a kid.

Do people actually live their lives in fear like this?

I had the flu twice growing up, once when I was like 7 and another time when I was in high school. Never died, never needed vaccination, strong wtf.

Flus can be especially bad for people with immune system issues, lung issues, asthma, super young, or super old. I think those people should get annual vaccines.

Got the flu vaccine one time in my life. Only because the year before I had a debilitating illness possibly caused by a virus that was never diagnosed. I figured if it came back and then I got the flu I would die. Srs.

since ensuring that i get adequate zinc in my diet every day (either red meat or oysters), i never get sick, even if i'm taking care of a very sick gal, for example, who is sharing a bed with me and coughing everywhere.

i discovered the difference back when i had a "paleo" diet some years ago and was eating a couple lbs of lamb a day srs. that was the first year since i moved up to *******land (nh) that i never got a single virus

zinc sufficiency is everything

the idea of getting a flu shot or cuckvid shot is utterly laughable because both sets of case/death numbers are demonstrably false

even cuckvid skeptics are usually unaware that they have been pumping up flu death numbers for years as part of a money grab (classifying every pneumonia death as a flu death, even if there is no test performed)

He has mild asthma but it's the flu ffs. The chance of pneumonia is basically zero if you're healthy. Speaking of which, he still refuses to let me introduce him to the gym or at least run for his health. Blows my mind how people can be scared for their health but are too lazy to take care of it.

Never taken any vaccine and only had the flu once. Didn’t miss work. My hangovers are worse than any illness. Just drink Gatorade take a multi and eat soup and workout light and you will be fine

I think it makes sense for people with medical conditions. Those with chit immune systems should change up their diet instead of taking vaccines.

Illness free for over a decade crew.

Haven't warn a mask in over a year haven't even had a cold

If you're sick and "get tested for flu/gayrona" you WILL test positive. You think company selling tests and injections wants you to test negative? Lol.

some strong tin foil hatting going on itt.

Getting the vaccine isn't necessarily about preventing you from getting it. It's about protecting others that are immunocompromised. I have a 2 year old and a newborn on the way, and the flu can be deadly to them. Ofc I'm going to get it.

Even if I didn't though, why not get it? It demonstrably lowers the chance that I get the flu, which is annoying even when its mild.

Wrong... I've tested negative for influenza multiple times. Yes, a company selling test kits will want you to test negative. Testing positive is a benefit to the producer of the anti-viral medications you would receive, not the producer of the test kits.

Also, if a test provides false positives it can cause doctors to make incorrect diagnoses which can lead to malpractice suits. Doctors would not use test kits that are known to give false positives, to protect themselves from litigation.

Yeah I get the flu vaccine every year because a) work has a nurse come round and do it so it's zero hassle and b) last time I had the flu I got severe pneumonia and I'd rather not do that again.

the flu can be deadly to children

it also reduces the incidence of spread, symptoms, hospitalizations and deaths, obviously depending on how well they can predict the strain for a certain year.

I think those at risk at the very least should probably get one, if i had kids i'd probably get one too

I was compelled to take it in the military for my entire adult life. I just continued to get it after. It’s free. I’ve never had issues with it. I have a strong immune system and I am trying to keep it that way. I also just started getting the pneumonia vaccine as well.

I am not going to take the rona vax anytime soon youth.
