Anyone else reached a pathetic level of inactivity/disengagement?
I held up for a good while, but COVID has me dragging so hard lately. Can't seem to muster up the motivation or discipline to do much of anything. Even the WFH has just become a struggle to stay engaged. The rot is starting to take over.
Not even complaining just curious if anyone else is experiencing this sort of thing. I'm also a bit worried my social skills may be deteriorating a bit. Interactions are starting to feel more forced and less natural since they have become less frequent

I did after COVID and then the two hurricanes hit my area.
I’ve bounced back though. Loving the gym and doing all the things I need in life.
I really let that BS get me down. I’m glad I snapped out of it.
It was pretty destructive.

I'm still pretty engaged when the temperatures are over a certain point. But now that there's snowcover on the ground and temperatures will be below like 20 degrees for the next couple weeks, I just can't force myself to give that much of a fuk. Everyone is miserable, and doing things like going out to restaurants forces you to deal with service employees who are like 5x as outwardly miserable as everyone else so it brings you down.
It's February already, so I'll be back to normal within probably another 6 weeks. But chances are I will give almost no fux until at least St Patrick's Day. By then the weather is usually at least tolerable(and sometimes it's 50 and sunny).
Anyone who can do it, I recommend taking an international trip somewhere right now. I just came back from Brazil, where it was Summer and everyone was relatively happy and upbeat. COVID was still a thing, but most people gave many fewer chits than in the US. Considering how miserable everyone is here, taking a trip helps remind you not to allow other people to bring you down in the US.

The first lockdown I was good. March - June it was spring turning to summer and the weather was getting nice. Gyms/restaurants opened and things were getting back to normal. November they said cases spiked and we'd shut down for 2 weeks, and now we've been locked down almost another 3 months.
Living in the PNW it's cloudy and rainy with no sun for weeks at a time. Everyones double masked up and avoiding eachother with no eye contact. Someone in my apartment building killed themselves last month. You're not alone feeling like this.

I'm in the same boat OP. Difficult to muster up motivation to do anything more than necessary. Still working out at home and doing minimum work but the lack of interaction and sheer monotony is difficult.
The only thing that comforts me is that alot of people are in the same boat. Plus I could've lost my job or even a family member, so all things considered it's not bad. It'll pass eventually, just gotta keep on keeping on.

I think a solid morning routine is key. I've always worked out first thing in the morning but I think it's important now more than ever as most days I am WFH and limited outings. Even if I am not lifting I'll take my dogs for a few miles walk before the sun comes up. Gets me energized and put of sloth mode to start the day.

Man, the sense of living in history has well and truly gone. Initially it was cool to feel like we were part of a historical event and then you realise history is never really as interesting as it appears in retrospect. As it says in Sapiens, history is what happens to the Kings and Queens while everyone else lives out their ordinary lives.
I've got back running. Just doing 5ks and going as quick as I can. Took me 26 minutes last week, in a week managed to get down to 21 minutes so that's good but everything is just blugh. I miss the ebb and flow of daily life. Its not perfect but its better than this. Now I take the aspects of Covid that are now second nature for granted. At the start spending time with my sister, my dog, living at a slow pace, having time to watch TV and read, walk frequently were all cool. Now it's just common place.

Not at all. i've taken the "pandemic" as an opportunity to propel my life to the next great stage. First, I started a graduate program (MBA). Second, I got a new puppy (Gold retriever). My gym isn't cucked so i've been working out 3-4 times a week since august. I've also been playing soccer on the weekends because my soccer gym also isn't full of cucks. I've saved up more than I ever have, and i still made a few trips. I'm older than i have ever been but i'm running laps around these younger kids on the soccer field. And I'm acing all my classes. step your game up OP!
