How come people hated Donald Trump so much but not Dubya?

Both were Republican presidents, but it seems like people didn't hate Dubya nearly as much. The news wasn't constantly bashing Dubya back then.

Is any Republican president in the future going to receive the same vitriol as Donald Trump, or was there something about Trump specifically that made people so angry? What do ya think, brahs?

lots of people hated george bush but it was those who paid attention to politics which wasn't as much as now. politics is too main stream now because of social media attention whoring. if social media was as popular then as it is now it would be about the same amount of hate if not more for all the huge wars he started over no proof.

Yes. Bush was even a charismatic public speaker when he was Governor of Texas and a candidate for Prez. A very "purple" centrist in many ways. Thrust onto the extra stress of Presidency was obviously hard on him and he stumbled through a lot of gaffes. Obama was a more polished public speaker, but terrible ideas. 100% of his popularity was from being able to put emotion into the words on the teleprompter. All style, vacuous substance. I voted against Bush both times, both times I was very young, voting against him because I was raised a Democrat. OP has a point though. No Republican will get a fair shake from the partisan mainstream media. It's why they show up 1000x as much on podcasts and such compared to Democrats.
