Bark Like A Dog: Comcast changes data usage rates - 1.2TB Max

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/techn...ow/ar-BB1dkpdN

"As part of this new Data Usage Plan, you'll be charged $10, plus tax, up to a maximum of $100 per month for each additional 50GB of data used over 1.2TB in a month."

Comcast said "1.2 terabytes is a massive amount of data" and the vast majority of customers will never come close to hitting it, stating the average household with two people working from home plus kids in virtual school and nighttime streaming will use about 500 gigabytes a month.

"No one will need more than 637KB of memory for a personal computer. 640KB ought to be enough for anybody," Bill Gates is alleged to have said in 1981

Where i live, Cox does the same thing.

Its a plan to get you to buy the Ultimate unlimited plan they offer here.

I've only hit the threshold once when i downloaded some huge games from the PS store.

You can easily hit this number by downloading movies and software.

They are pissed that people are turning off the cable TV and going to streaming.

Gonna affect me. Did 1.9tb last month and 2.3tb in Decem. I think for my area they start actually doing it next month. They gave us a couple months to figure out use out. Then it'll be you get 1 freebie over month, then that $10 per 50gb over kicks in the 2nd time. Not sure if its like that everywhere

No more jdownloader2 whole youtube channels anymore

This^^ Why pay TV charges when you can stream everything for free. They'll get their money somehow but even if you total 100/month in just internet charges still a lot cheaper than internet PLUS a cable tv fee.
