Anyone ever start a Youtube channel or some chit?

I have a lot of crazy adventures:

Driving hovercrafts, snowmobiling, winter snowshoe expeditions, kayaking, fishing, bowhunting, duck hunting, bear and wolf trapping, nuisance animal control, butchering critters, etc.


I realized that there is a significant part of the population that wants to live vicariously through others, and with most people living in cities, these opportunities are not possible for everyone. the Chit that I do normally is not attainable to most.

And lets face it, people are lazy and like to just click the next video and spend time watching stuff...

Anyone have anything to add/ would watch a channel like that?

My channels aren't huge by any means.
I don't give them the kind of attention I should.

If you want to grow a channel...
1. Have good content.
2. Put new videos 1-2 times per week or more if you can.
3. Have good energy when you are making vids. Don't be dull.

Those are a few tips.

Now I have all original content so it's a bit rougher to get views. But you certainly can. Tag your stuff well.
Title it well.

I couldn't imagine regularly spending an hour or more of my time in a day turning a camera on, putting on a fake personality (maybe you're naturally more entertaining), editing the video, etc.

If you can get paid for doing that, then great, but it just seems so tedious and an unwelcome blending of work and leisure.

I dont forsee myself doing that. There is for sure a message I will want to get out.

I am thinking longer adventure style videos, and then every few weeks shorter ones to keep interest up.

Cool man. I would like to film for a while, as in, six months at least and get some videos edited and ready before launching.

id like to do a really professional job of it. Editing will take me a bit to get onto.

I caught a massive lake trout the other day. Took me twenty mins of fighting it. I called a buddy half way through and was fkin jacked up.

Energy is zero issue for me.

When time comes I will post videos on here if allowed. And I am aware ill need to think about privacy, etc prior to launch.

Also need to make an insta account to link with ********. i get hundreds of likes already for photos. Fuk, I posted a fb pic of some smoked fish the other day and got 500 likes in a weekend.

And tagging is key I hear.

Idk if you've filmed stuff like that before, but it might be a lot more work than you'd think. Getting the proper equipment, setting up shots, editing, finding your niche audience etc. There is a lot of work that goes into building a channel like that and you might spend a couple years working out the kinks and finding a decent sized audience. I've heard youtube is harder these days because their algorithms push already successful channels to the top (could be complete BS, just heard word of mouth).

In my experience bringing work into something that I love can take away from my passion. That said, you should give it a shot if it's something you're interested in. Just don't make the mistake of spending $$$ on equipment that you might lose interest in within a few months. Try to get some decent shots and put together some okay videos with what you currently have. If you enjoy the process, you'll have a better idea of what you actually need to bring the quality of your videos to the next level.

Final thing, remember that there are a million other people out there doing X thing that you think is unique and many of them are already making high quality videos. Bringing your work above "hobbyist" quality is a good step, but if you want to be successful you need to bring something to the table that can set you apart from the rest of the professionals.

thanks for the post. Am aware of the work, and am aware that most things have already been done. making custom mounts for just the right shot is going to all be part of the fun. I like designing stuff like that.

I have 'episodes' already designed, themed episodes, etc.

if anything it will be another way to record adventures.

Have cameras coming, wireless microphones, 350 types of mounts, tripods, battery packs, underwater lights...

I went with the New Gopro hero 9 black, since a lot of it will be outdoor type filming.

The new forward screen will make it super easy.

i have 27 long episodes planned, and am starting episode design for each.

A few smaller short episodes as well, and am designing an intro and what i will call Sub intros.

Still fuzzy on editing software, but will play with that.
