I need a new laptop to run excels spreadsheets and to monitor stocks and crypto
my current laptop has a i5 and i think i7 would calculate my spreadsheets faster and allow me to make more gains

Get a new m1 macbook pro and join the master race. Or wait for the next redesigned macbook pro with the generation m2 that's supposed to come out in a couple months.

My desktop is an older i5 at 1.44GHZ, but my laptop is an i7 at around 2.4 GHZ and it much faster and smoother with pretty much everything.
