My 4 year old Nephew has been addressing me as "Daddy" or "da....." before correcting
himself lately.
its like a freudian slip or something. he'll say "daddy" or "daa...." before correcting himself and saying my name.
besides his dad, i'm the only male figure in this age range thats consistently in his life. sister's kids. bro in law/their dad works weird hours.
hits me in the feels bc i love that kid more than anything in the world but im prolly thinking too hard about what this means. he's a kid. it's a mistake.

lmao. It's nothing unusual.
I remember when I was a toddler, I thought that my uncle was my dad too because he spent more time with me than my dad ( who was working non stop).
I had to remind myself that " no he isn't my dad" .

That is why you might have seen this on Sesame street.
It is a much finer skillset in the brain to recognize the base level differences in a person especially a sibling such as the father versus the uncle to an inexperienced mind.

Why does anyone/anything /belong/ anywhere. What is it to belong? Why is my bitch wife always trying to chain me down because I want to find a new pussy to ****? CAN'T SHE SEE SHE IS SMOTHERING ME?
Regardless - OP is reading too much into his nephew's verbal indiscretions.

hold him down and make him cry "Uncle!" over and over again until he stops. you've got to put a stop to this. you've got to nip this thing in the bud. this thing cannot continue.
